If you currently have 2nd Gen Alpharex Tail Lights

Would you mind posting photos of the lights installed in your truck, specifically referencing the fitment and gap so I can compare them to my stock housings?

I recently ordered some Alpharex tail lights and have,in my opinion, severe fitment and gap issues

I am contemplating asking for a second replacement set to see if it’s any better,or are gaps there no matter what

Thank you in advance for your help if you choose to post pics

Thank you sir. You do not have gaps and your lights fit in the recess properly like the OEM ones do? Do you recall how long ago you purchased the lights?

I ordered from Headlight Revolution during the Black Friday sale and have very large gaps between the body line recesses. I have attached pictures.

I’m 50/50 on if I got a bad set or if the quality control is crap now

HR supposedly consulted with Alpharex who claimed everything looked “normal”

There is a uniform 1/8" gap all the way around the tail lights to the truck bed. So, that's prob why I didn't notice a difference from OEM fitment.

Came to the forum to ask the same question, I just installed mine finally after getting them on black Friday from Headlight Revolution as well and I'm noticing big gap at the top and also they are not sitting flush from the sides. Thought it might the right but just installed the left and it's the same thing.

Also wanted to point out the old Spyders tail fit perfectly, they are the ones Im replacing... If others can chime in would appreciate it. I'm leaning towards my being bad set because no way this how it's supposed to be.

I don’t at all think it’s a bad set. Mine are horrible too. We’re not the only ones with this issue.

After seeing multiple reports of this issue, I believe it’s a faulty product in general.

This saddens me as I was very close to pulling the trigger on these tails. I have had the headlights for 6 months now and love them. I will be following this one closely.

I have a set of their headlights on my wife’s Sequoia ever since they came out for 2nd gens. Going on 2 years without issue.

I also have a set of headlights en route for my Tundra from the BF Alpharex Sale,to be delivered soon.

I hope the headlights aren’t slipping in QC.

I am disappointed in the tail lights. It’s very sad.

I could understand if the consumer was the issue, but with multiple reports of fitment issues I am convinced it’s a sub par product,or at a minimum mold/forming issues from the manufacturing process.

When you have cheap knockoff tails that cost 1/2 the price and fit perfectly I have to call foul to an issue when I see it.

I don’t have 1 negative thing to say about Headlight Revolution, who has been my advocate through this whole process and more than helpful.

If there is a manufacturing issue I hope that Alpharex can find out what’s going on and get it handled

Yea man I have had my eyes on these for over a year and to get this crap is unacceptable. To me seems the back molding is raised to much for it to fit flush which I believe would cover up the huge gap on top. That just my observation seeing the back of Arex and my old spyders. The Spyders just sit there flush with no manipulation.. can't even get these to sit flush no matter what I do.

I got the headlights as well and guess might as well installed them now as well... Hopefully have no issues with these. I will have to get with Headlight Revolution or Arex about these tails..

I called Arex first. They directed me to the vendor I purchased them from.

After I talked with HR I tried getting back with Arex, who gave me their tech support number.

I spoke with Edwin at Alpharex and after our conversation texted him photos of the issue.

HR consensus is that the lights are made in the same molds,so getting another set is more than likely not going to fix the issue.

Perhaps the lot/batch mold had issues from production

I got mine from the recent BF Sale form HR too.
I have a small gap around mine. But my truck is black like the edge of the light so you do not notice it.
My driver's side tail light fits a lot "snugger" than my passenger side tail light.
The little plastic piece that is supposed to go into the grommet does not hold the top end in place.
So it sticks out about a 1/8 inch from the body. The two screws hold it firmly in place so I am fine with it.
Heard AlphaRex is doing a 2nd gen tail light with sequential flash so maybe they will fix this fitment issue.
Too dark to take a picture.

The lights work perfect and they look great.

Don't know, I know others in here didn't have fitment issues since I've been following this thread for over a year. Other have said Arex has replaced their headlights for condensation issues but can't remember if anyone has had their tails replaced in the Arex headlight thread. I tried calling HRev but it was past their hours will try tomorrow.

Edwin was a great help to me when I installed my headlights. Fingers crossed we can come up with a reasonable solution.

I agree. I believe the issues are not a customer support issue, but rather a product issue.

Im confident there can be a resolution if everyone works together

    @Rozr1

Can you post up photos of your box label?

    I’ve attached mine for comparison

I believe we may have the same numbers

Other members please chime in as well if you have the information to help as well

Headlight Revolution, morimoto, and retrofit source can all suck it!! They are all owned by the same people and their service has gone way downhill in the last couple years. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Alpharex was owned by them as well. Sucks that they are now the only option.

Not to hijack, but to hijack...what rear bumper is that and are you happy with it?

Hooke Road made the front and rear bumpers. I'm definitely happy with them esp considering their price.

Yea seems there are others members in here that have same issues but let it go because it's "aftermarket". Headlight Revolution got back with me after sending them pictures and they said it looks fine and uniformed... I emailed them back and said hard to tell from the pics but it is not correct. There is no way any headlights/tailights should have these big of a gap due to not sitting in flush.

I will post some pictures tomorrow to show the gaps I have around my lights.
I still love the lights but wish they fit a little better.

Wow, that's quite the gap. I just installed some Sypders and fits like a glove. I'm kinda OCD, don't think I could live with that.

which spyder lights did you install? I purchased some that I’m currently in the process of retuning bc the running lights, blinkers, and back up lights are too dim. Only the brake like is sufficient.
