Rob is still here with us! He's one of my two go to gents back there. I also feel free confident in recommending Jason back there in service as one of our advisors.

totally sounds like a coaster to me too!! Got an extnded family full of them :)

Good? to see some of the little annoyance issues being discussed, like charging port location and wind noise in real world truck. Looking forward to more as trucks get delivered.

    Thank you very much :)

I miss the direct sales, but also enjoy the new coaching/leadership role.

The wait times on the new Tundras, and well everything these days is really terrible lol.

Yeah, it's good to see these early reports. I'm not planning to buy until late spring/summer right now.

On the build site dont select from the Pre selected models, go to build your own, and then other models come up. The SR5 model (not package on an SR) is available in 6.5 ft bed crew max

My understanding is every SR5 in Canada gets those. What makes you think they'd be included on the SR5 but not the SR5 TRD Sport?

It's just worded incorrectly online -- the packages sandwich onto each other. So if you choose TRD Sport, it offers whatever the SR5 also had, plus the extras.

apologies, i misunderstood your want :( & missed the DC reference.

I also dont see the double cab SR5 with 6.5 bed, only the long bed which for that model is the 8 footer.

Are you so kind to direct us to that law you are mentioning? That you are forbidden to sell the new ones above the MSRP? Adding a market fee beside the MASRP is not the same thing? The law is forbidding to sell to a higher price than the advertised one - but that has nothing to do with the MSRP.
One dealer I know for sure is Terrace Ford in Burlington - if you look on their website you will see the overall price listed about 5% or more on top of the Sticker price. Talking to a sales guy he told me upfront that they are charging 5% over MSRP plus a $4000 mandatory package that include bed spray on and other things. Also they are charging 12K over for the 5 Broncos they have

The best link so far I can show regarding consumer price protection is:

    https://www.omvic.on.ca/portal/Consumers/ConsumerProtection/AllInPricing.aspx

Essentially as mentioned, Dealers "can" charge over via methods I spoke of. It has to be very clear and it is frowned upon by Toyota Canada as gouging our consumers.
I'll try to find anything clearer than that if I can. Also please again note, this is Ontario Canada specific.

Alternate brands also for all I know may encourage such things, but in Toyota Land, we had official messaging to be mindful of not doing so.

Here essentially is our directive from Toyota Canada a few weeks back:

"We have seen this situation attract recent consumer advocate media coverage of negative retail experiences in our industry – including our brand. If you have not already done so, we ask you to now take the time to review your own processes and reinforce customer care expectations with your sales and business office teams, to ensure they uphold the responsibility we all have to present our brand in the best possible light.

These are the times that customers will remember how they were treated. Now is the time to build customers for life. Let’s remain intently focused on customer experience and retention. "

I found the same. Dealers can charge whatever they want, even over MSRP as long as they're up front about it. They can't tack something else on over and above what it's listed for sale at.
I agree that Dealers should remember that we don't forget. Screw me now and you won't get a chance to screw me again !

Thank you for posting this! It's good to see that although there is no law to prohibit selling over the MSRP - Toyota is taking care of it on it's own!

They are most of us are trying.

Sticking to MSRP has become more of an essential need due to the mass volume limitations, but over pricing is a business model I hope we never adopt here.

    I was thinking that's more like a $56k vehicle.

LoL sadly not... however, consumers have a loud voice which is called their pocket books... if no one were to buy, they'd listen, but as long as someone is willing to fork the cash, it's a losing battle.

Nice to see a rep from Heffner here :)
We've been buying from you guys for past 10 years, and we come from Milton even though we have Toyota dealership here :)
I think we've bough 3-4 cars with Nikola over the years.

Nikola is wonderful! He's truly my best friend on the sales team LOL.

Thank you and your family for your patronage over the years. The drive down the 401, even from Milton, is a treat in itself ;)

Hope he get's to see you guys again :)

You're correct ! I said the wrong model lol. I was looking at too many listings.
It was a 21 Platinum and the Tonneau Cover I mentioned is on order so its not in the price.
I made an offer today and got shot down. They want 80k, no less !

Well finally got to see the new Tundra up close. It was a white SR5 crew max with the short bed. Also had a chance to take it out on a 50 km test drive. The new grill doesn't seem as massive as it appears on the various videos that I've seen and that composite bed is fairly slippery so anything in the bed loose will slide around pretty good. When driving, the hood does take away some of your vision when approaching something low in front of you.
As Winnipeg had just experienced 10+ cm of snow, the Perimeter Hwy was snow and ice covered in spots which made it difficult to get a real feel of the acceleration from that TT engine. In one open spot, I slowed down to about 70 kph and then floored the accelerator - initially I noticed turbo lag (maybe a couple of seconds) but when it took off, that TT engine really moved that Tundra - the truck only had 50 km on the odometer so maybe this will improve once it's broken in.

That crew max has lots of interior space (especially in the back) - the front seats felt comfortable and firm.

Any questions ??? (I'll try to answer them)

Has anyone built or taken delivery of one with the spray in Bedliner? I don’t see it as an option on the Canadian builder site?
