    I think you mean auto-4WD. AWD's are on Subaru's and SUV/sedans.

Swapping a Sequoia or 200 series tcase makes it AWD too.

@Wynnded also has a AWD conversion

wouldn't that make it less truck-like? I was under the impression that AWD is like Auto-4WD-Lite?

I guess it depends on what you consider a truck. The Sequoia tcase allows for 2WD, AWD, and true 4WD. AWD is different than auto 4WD since it's always active, but it's different than 4WD in the fact one wheel spinning is capable where as 4WD one front and one rear at a minimum is always spinning. AWD and 4WD have the same traction/power put down up until the point a tire slips and then 4WD is better (again since one front and one rear is forced to spin), but the allowance of tires to slip (differential speed between tires) from AWD is what let's it be fine to be used onroad.

The Sequoia and LC t-cases have the ability to lock and unlock the center differential whereas the Tundra does not. In the Tundra it's always locked, that's why the system binds on high traction surfaces during turns. The Sequoia has the ability to select 2WD only just as with the Tundra, but the LC does not. The LC is in AWD at all times by default with the center differential unlocked (open) like a normal front or read differential.

There are a dozen ways to explain it...

Oh, and I neglected to mention that the center diffs in the Sequoia are Torsen differentials, and the "open" center aspect works in 4lo too. :headbang:

Here's the write up I did for my install.

I want my 4WD, 2010, 5,7 l, convert into permanent AWD and swap the T-case.

Does anyone know the partnumber of the JF3A T-case from the 2008+ Sequoia?

Seems to be one of those; 3610034190, 3610034191, 3610034192, 3610034193 but which one...

    Thanks , Zappa
