Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this. My 2010 Tundra wont go into gear. The shifter will shift but it won't go into gear and the 4LO is flashing and beeping? Im actually stranded now as I type this.

Like you put it into reverse or drive and give it gas and it revs up but doesn't move?

Not sure. Did you just get into a previously working truck and this happened? Or is there a backstory to this situation? What position is the 4x4 knob in currently?

This has happened periodically over the last year. It has happened 3 times in 2 weeks and 2 of them today. Its my daily driver 2010 Tundra Crew Max 4x4 with 142,000 miles. The 4wd works fine never had an issue.

What happens if you move the selector to 4lo while the transmission is in neutral?

If it still doesn't move in 4wd (high or low) I would guess the torque converter has shit the bed.

I appreciate everyone's response and help. I am in Louisiana so my truck stays in 2 wheel drive 95% of the time. I am going to attach a video of the issue. I think it is electrical I am going to try and find the harness on the tranny and clean the contacts as the first attempt to figure this out. wither way I will keep the gang posted on the findings.
I have attempted to post a video of the issue the other day.

So the current hypothesis is that it's gummed up from not being exercised...

As of right now that's where I am going to start. I cant seem to find my scenario of symptoms on you tube to try out? I am also going to stop by my local Auto zone to see what alert codes or history they find off of the computer.

Personally, I would just start flipping from 2wd to 4hi a bunch of times to work the mechanism as much as possible and hopefully loosen things up although I can see you're not wanting to "get stuck" in 4wd by accident. I wouldn't expect there to be any codes for this, but if it turns out that there are, keep us up to date.

This just happened to me but not sure it's the same issue you'll have. Mine ended up being my ABS wheel sensor. A wire was severed and it took me 3 days to figure it out without spending money for someone to fix it. For $18.62 on Amazon, I was able to get it over night and installed. Hope it's the same for you man. Good luck!

sounds like either the actuator for transfer case 4lo has an issue or the ADD actuator has an issue.

To get into 4wd the transfer case first shifts (either 4hi or 4 lo) then the front diff ADD selector engages the shift forks to move the "shift sleeve" that locks the stub shaft to the outer shaft on passenger side.

If you are not getting power to any wheel then your transfer case is stuck in a neutral position.

I'd start with the transfer case actuator.

I know this is an old thread but my brothers and my 2010 tundras have had this issue. To fix this issue:
Set the E-brake because your truck is basically in neutral now.
Turn the key the the on position but don’t start the truck.
Keep your foot on the break and shift into neutral. You might hear a loud clunk from the transfer case. But the light will stop flashing and you can just drive away.

Basically something caused the transfer case to try to engage 4lo and it was basically in neutral. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue yesterday on my 2007 Tundra and the solution @mdc1192 suggested fixed it. One note however is that moving it to Neutral didn't do anything but shifting from Neutral back to Park did the trick.
