I believe that the prices are lower though if we convert. Plus dealers are not selling over MSRP. BTW they started to get crazy here too - a Ford Dealer in my area is charging 5% over MSRP for everything + a mandatory $4000 package with protection and few other things. No wonder why they have stock of everything including 5 Broncos (only 12K over :):))

Not sub par prices, those are always sky high for less.

I think you're correct ! I thought the same thing after watching another video tonight on the SR5 Offroad with Softex and 14" screen.

Congrats! 4Runners are sick! They're such an under the radar badass vehicle, although they have become more popular in recent years.

Seems like a ripoff to order from the facotry...unless you just want it all-in the price for financing.

I have a Ford branded backflip on my F150 and the aluminum skin on the panels is delaminating from the rigid core. Probably from poor quality, but also probably from a bit of bashing off ice in the winter. Also a few of the sliding latches seized up. And the gasket by the rear window is peeling off.

My brother got a slightly different backflip a couple years ago and it seems to be lighter and maybe the panels are just solid plastic instead of metal? It has a matte finish on it. Anyone know if they have different panel materials available on the backflip? His also has a rear lip that lets you shut the tailgate without lifting the lid.

How long did it last until starting to delaminate?

A few years I think. Its 5 years old now and all 3 panels have it delaminating. Its worse in the sun when the metal skin expands and bubbles up.

Just in time for winter, too. Always feels good driving through a snowstorm in a well equipped rig.

Looks like Ontario Toyota dealerships in London, Simcoe, Mississauga, North York and Maple have 2022 Tundra's now. Any others?

I've had 3 with zero issues. They have Aluminum or Fiberglass skin. The longest I had was almost 4 years but no sign of any problems. 2 of them I could open and close the tailgate without opening the tonneau cover. I'm in Winnipeg so lots of snow and ice !

Are you using the drain tubes ? Some people do and some don't. Maybe water isn't draining properly and getting between the skins then expanding when it freezes. Just a thought?

I'd double check they aren't plugged up. Even dust accumulating slowly then mixing with water could plug the drains. It would turn into a sludge.
Have you or your Brother ever contacted Bakflip because depending on model they have 3-5 year warranty. The first one I bought had a lifetime warranty because Line ex put their name on it.

With the temporary low inventory if a Canadian dealer wants to sell it above MSRP,
seems they just need to put some mileage on it, then sell it as a used vehicle.
Auototrader search found one. SW Ontario.
    Be aware.

Why would they need to go through this step? They can set any price they want above MSRP for a new one. There is no law to prevent this

Can you post the link? There is no such law! Only law is preventing selling over the advertised price but nothing how to set the price and all the dealers are free to set whatever prices they want. There are dealers around selling for 5% over MSRP and 12K over for Broncos.

I hate to have to ask but if you go back and have an opportunity, would you mind checking out the payload sticker on the door jam and letting us know what it says?
There’s a lot of us here having a hard time finding payload in excess of 1500 lbs.
    Thanks!

It makes it look like it is used or was a demo. I guess it's supposed to make us feel like we're getting less screwed lol

Clearly this guy's a big Trailer Park Boys fan. I don't know a single Canadian that actually talks like this, but this 'boy' could be one of the first 2022 Tundra owners in Canada.

I stand corrected. I thought there was. Damn...

I've never heard of it happening here though. Although I don't hear all things.
