I also went in to the North Knoxville store. Did not have any Pit Boss's, but there the Weber SmokeFire was marked down $600.

 

Lowes in St Pete said nope. I called your store and she said only unit outside for that price but couldn't guarantee that the electronics work because they got drenched by the sprinklers.

 

Yeah I got the only one inside. It would still be covered under warranty

 

I called the South Naples store and that guy was a rude a$$hole.Told him I'll call a manager tomorrow.

 

I'm gonna call the manager at my local store tomorrow and see what he says based on the picture from the forum.

Regional or not the managers have the power to override the price. Just have to find the right one. Be nice as hell and wish them a merry Christmas. That seemed to do the trick.

Just remember these people are in retail and have been dragged through hell the last 2 months. He might have dealt with hundreds of the stupidest ass questions possible today. Just saying

Same thing here store closest to me had them marked $174 but none in stock. Drove across town to the other store and $349, showed them the pic and customer service lady said they can price match mark downs but not clearance prices.

I didn't need one but figured I'd grab one for my brother, told them thanks and went on my way.

 

That's the exact scenario I ran into yesterday, they were only marked down to $349.00.

Went to the Lowe’s here in Mission Valley San Diego. Got all the way to checkout and showed the lady the photo. She said she could accept the price. She asked which local Lowe’s I got the price from and… I stumbled! I am a Home Depot guy. She said it had to be a local store to price match and I needed to have physically seen the price. I said “have a nice day” as she had already turned sour. So if anyone in San Diego wants to go get this grill you can learn from my mistake (other too, for your local store). It’s a nice grill but too much going on these days to be driving all over the place to get one

I checked the other 3 lowes stores in Knoxville area. None had any. I am going to keep watching the 1 store that has 5 and see if they are eventually marked down......

 

No luck here. 1 store has a$$hole employees and the other was a no-go.

 

Amen to that! A lot of pissy people out there right now… but generally speaking I usually get great service in Lowes around here.

Don't run me out of here but not really having any experience with PitBoss, if I keep it covered, will it last (meaning not rot out)? I know it has a 5yr warranty but....

I did find one in my area but at 174.50, they said they don't match other Lowes only other stores....

 

With the electronics it’s best to not let them get soaked. I would keep on a covered porch or garage. If it lasts 5yrs with warranty at that price then good on ya

 

Look on their website for warranty info. I don't believe they cover rust but there are aftermarket covers on Amazon. Apparently they are very good with replacing faulty parts. I just got mine also and can't help much. For the price it's a no brainer. I "think" the bigger 820 model just went on clearance also. There are a few Pit Boss forums with many members and non stop activity that could answer any question under the sun.....good luck

 

So I went back to Lowes on my way home from work to ask for a manager, and guess what? Completely opposite of what they told me yesterday, they were marked down to $174. I used my military discount, walked out the door with 1 in a box for $168.

 

Got mine for $175 but is has a huge problem with one wheel. Can't install it if there is only one hole to put the pin in.
