So I’ve had my truck for about 10 days and couldn’t be happier. I’ve so far added the hard cover and rubber mats. I’m super happy with the truck so far. Get about 16 mpg. Not bad considering I’ve been towing , accelerating heavy and idling for hours learning the truck and working. Here are some images of my truck.

Great looking Platinum. How is the seat comfort? Did you have a Tundra previously?

Do any of the lucky fellas with the new Tundras not have the 14" screen? If so, could you post a few pics of what it looks like? It's def harder to find good pics online of that unit.

For a guy like me who is most interested in the TRD Sport and doesn't wna spend up for the $9k+ package that includes the 14" screen, I'm most likely stuck with the basic screen.

    Thanks!

Also interested in the ‘base’ screen pictures. All I use mine for is the backup camera and Sirius radio.

Edit, I like it. They tell me "bigger is better" but honestly I don't care. It plays music and it shows my GPS

I agree, I have the regular screen and it's bigger than last gen and I like it. I kinda feel like the 14" screen looks too big but had it was standard on all trims, I wouldn't complain either lol

Also looks like last gen but just wanted to verify. I kept my all weather floormats from my 2019 and am using it in my 2022, for now lol

I test drove a 22 with the smaller screen and didn’t like it. It’s slanted to the right a bit and not very easy to see. I’m hoping the 14” screen is much better.

What is your allocation number? Mine is 111 ….so if they’re getting 3 tundras every two weeks…I have a long wait time. I’m guessing that’s how allocation works?

Probably depends what you want. If there’s 3 guys shards of you that want the same truck you want your number is 4. Or maybe your the only one who wants one like you want. And your number 1 on that list.

    Dead Sexy right there!

I like that you have a 8 lug trailer. Once you have a set of 7-8K axles under your trailer...never go back to anything smaller.

Some questions since I'm too lazy to look it up:
-Is there still a requirement for a LDH at 5000 lbs trailer weight?
-What average speed where you going? Assuming you were in TH+?

I would guess that is around a 7100 lb load (2700 for trailer and 4400 for tacoma)? That is pretty good mpg towing that. I'm impressed. Not sure of your geographical location (hills or mountains), but this is a win in my book. My diesel with a similar load (little heavier ~8750) got a best of 13.8 mpg with my last 20' flatbed. The trailer prior to that was a 16' flatbed that was about 700 lbs lighter, but didn't see any real increase over 13.8 mpg doing the speed limit (65-75 mph).

    16' Load Trail

    20' Load trail

Toyota is making it very difficult on buying my next truck in 5-7 years after retirement and moving away from the mountains. I am seriously impressed with those numbers.

I prefer the 8 over the 14 but want pano cameras. I won’t be sad if I get an 8.

Agree. trading my 17 4Runner TRD Pro. Trade is more then what I paid.........with MSRP for the Tundra. I lucked out and stopped into the dealer where I bought the 4Runner and they had a Limited Allocation not promised to anyone exactly how I would order. It's in silver that was my color second choice. Truck is build and intransit for a 1st week January delivery. Loved the 4Runner. Truth is I rarely ever used it to anywhere near its off-road capabilities. Maybe twice; once coming down a improved dirt road down a steep ridge covered in snow (Crawl control) and the other last winter when it dumped 36" snow in 24 hours. It's an off road beast for sure, but now looking forward to the Tundra TRD OR.

My Bro has had several Tundra's and the 3rd Gen is substantial improvement over the earlier generations. IMO

secured a platinum in celestial silver last night. same dealer i bought my supercharged 08 from 13 years ago. gonna ride this platinum for a year or two then move to the hybrid after 22 to get the first round of any fixes. this is my 3rd toyota truck. only needed 2 trucks in the last 28 years. they were both basic/grade trim so excited for simple features like Distance to Empty lol! once i get the hybrid it will be long term ownership as well. but for now....non-hybrid platinum. will post when i get it prob early feb. has a jan 3 build date.

signing the agreement and placing a deposit. went back home and checked their website and the truck/vin is no longer listed. it's mine!

Can we be friends? I randomly stopped by Joseph Airport last week and saw (touched ha ha) YOUR truck just chilling on the back lot, drooled a little. It was my first close up look at the new Tundra and I have to say it's much better in person. The bed liner and auto steps are a nice touch. Congrats man, enjoy.

I especially like the slight blue trim inside on the dash and doors and in the seats in the platinum. At least that's what I saw on the build and price thinga majig.

Does anyone have a picture of the Silver Limited Off road. I was told that the wheels are silver with gray painted accents but the build sheet shows an all black rim with off road tires. I have one reserved right now but I have to let them know by tomorrow if I want it.
