Did you just have to loosen the back 2 bolts of the TRD skid plate to create enough gap to slide the front cat skid plate in?

Yep. Loosen the back two TRD skid plate bolts bang on that front plate to get it to fit under the frame and then finish putting the puzzle together…

Shipped Thursday and here today, even with fedex’s crappy service in this area. Now I just have to wait for a warmer day to install them. Hopefully it’ll be before May.

I know what you mean, but thefts haven’t been too bad in my area yet. I was going to wait til summer to order but prices will only go up. In a month or less we will have a few feet of snow that will be on the ground until March and hopefully the cold weather will keep the thieves indoors.

I don't envy you trying to take that thing off... I made the comment in a post on another thread (or maybe this one?) that with the VS skid, I feel like I could use it to hang the truck on a peg on the wall if I wanted.

I posted this n another section but wanted to give a Shout out to Tyler!!!!!!

I owe Tyler another Huge round of thanks for making such a great product. We had to make an emergency trip to College Station Tx yesterday due a family emergency. I got a room at the Embassy Suites and ended up parking in the garage on the top deck. We went to eat and go to the Hospital earlier this morning, when I got back there was a guy in a 13 Sequoia parked two spots down from me, he started up and Roar, no cats, then a newer Tundra TRD Pro about six spaces down was walking out at the same time. He didn’t even try to start his truck he got down and looked and they were also gone. I saw 3 other Tundras in the garage this morning and hope they didn’t get hit also. So if your on the Fence on buying cat protection stop and get them.

I am not shipping anything today, but I am having my nephew make like 20 pro nut plates today. I am waiting for the good news, but supposedly my powder coater is picking up for me the rest of the load today! Depending on what time I will pick up from him tonight or tomorrow. My on again and off again bicep tendon is acting up so I am very grateful to have my nephew here to help while I try and rest it. I plan on shipping ALOT of 1/8 bare steel tomorrow assuming I get it back to my place by a decent time. I am so excited to catch up to November! Also, the new batch has started aswell. I still expect it to be ready around the new year. This will catch me up to December 18th for orders. These long lead times are finally becoming a thing of the past and I cannot wait to sleep better at night!

Also, don’t feel bad for my nephew helping me, he got new front tires for his truck for Christmas and I am building him a custom tube bumper for his truck since he punched a tow hitch through is old one

Alright, there have been delays, but I have most of the 1/8 steel at powder coat and some I brought home. I will been shipping what I have for bare steel tomorrow, and start shipping the powder coated plates Christmas Eve. I also have my nephew trained up and he is knocking out the nut plates, I should have about 20 ready by the end of the day tomorrow. I am taking Saturday and Sunday off, but I will bring back at it Monday

Hey all, I still have my 2 aluminum powder coated plates sitting unused with a set of security bolts but my truck recently got totaled. I am hoping to get a 22 model now and wondering if there is any chance the plates will fit? I'm in NY if anyone is interested in taking the plates off my hands. Thanks!

I doubt the plates will fit a 22, but I am going to try and go and measure a local 22 within the next week to at least start making the cat plate.

Got my plates about 1 1/2 months ago, but finally found time to install over the Christmas holiday. There was some shipping damage from when I received them, but @Classy63 was great to work with and we got that figured out quickly.

Overall, installation went well. Fit and finish looks good. No rattles that I can hear, and my wife was glad to get the two giant boxes out of the garage finally!

I do have a TRD Pro front plate, and yes, it was a bit more work to figure out the "angles" to get the front cat plate installed and TRD Pro skid plate bolts tightened back up. I did not jack up my truck, and just used my "cardboard creeper" on the garage floor for my work.

I followed someone else's advice on here about leaving about 1 thread of the nut attached on the TRD Pro bolts and sliding the front cat plate in. I had to work it just a bit (from side to side) to get it to go, but it basically slid home after a little wiggling. Tightening the driver's side TRD Pro skid bolt wasn't terrible. I could get a wrench in there fairly easily and snug things up. The passenger side bolt was a bit more difficult as I couldn't hold the wrench AND fit my hand in there. I finally just poked the wrench in there, rested it on the skid plate, slid my hand up in there, grabbed it, and was good to go. Only hard part was figuring out how to lay under the truck to get my hand / arm up there. I resorted to sliding under the truck from the driver's side (head first), and my head was basically right by the passenger side tire and that allowed me to get my right hand up into the void and go to work. Sounds easier now that I write it, but I spent about 30 minutes pondering before I came up with my approach.

I will be curious to see how the "nut plate" works that @Classy63 has sent to a few folks, and if it makes the install any easier / quicker.

Well, I have some sorta bad news, I ran out of the large washers I use for the 1/2” bolts. I have 450 coming, but it says they won’t be here until Wednesday. Good news, I got a few orders out this morning and I will be working on the 2022 cat plate today to get that into production.
