I replaced my carrier bearing this weekend, make sure everything was aligned or so I thought, test drove it put a few miles on it brought it up to speed no problems, driving into town today did about 15 miles and a mile out of town and started making a loud noise I pulled over checked it and I feel like the carrier bearings out again, is there a certain way that the driveshaft needs to be aligned besides just making sure all the U joints are in line is for my missing something else if anyone has any pictures or anything else somethings should look please send them to me that be greatly appreciated taking it apart going to O’Reillys to get the new carrier bearing again good thing it’s a lifetime warranty

Did you mark the the driveshaft portions and yoke prior to removal, then reassemble using markings?

Further investigation the carrier bearing is fine, now that I have it in the air and looking at it physically and shaking it but there is play and the rear section of my driveshaft that has the rubber boot on it with some kind of clips I believe I can take that apart and put some grease in there

Maybe you have a coincidence issue and a u joint just went South at a bad time making it a bit more tricky to diagnose.

I’m thinking gremlins right now because I just drove it 30 miles no vibration nothing brought it up to 80 miles an hour nothing slowed it down went all the way to stop took off like a bat out of hell nothing so I don’t know it’s the weirdest thing in the world, I guess it’s just a Toyota
