What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I bought the one off Ebay that just goes over the shiny T on the steering wheel,

The black OEM , is it matte finish or shiny or ???

 

the diagram for that part is the worst, does it replace this ??? the silver around the stereo and enviromental controls ?

 

I do not think you can get a Black steering wheel Toyota symbol?? AJT used to make one that covered the chrome one but they can not do that anymore. I sent an email asking if they had one on the floor I could have but no response!! I am sure they come off. If I get that ambitious I can take it off and scuff it up and paint it??

Toyota sent out cease and desist letters to a lot of people. Can't even send out stock they had, probably had to destroy them?

 

There are some on ebay that you can get though. Otherwise, it is just held on with a few plastic rivets. Comes off easy and a few folks have painted it.

 

Assuming this means the coating is failing on them? Did N-Fab step up and replace them?

 

Your a year into these, how are they holding up so far?

Color matched door handles and mirror caps. Finally! It creates such a smooth, classy look. Probably more noticeable on another color, like white or cement, but I still think it’s a tasteful touch with the MGM.

I am giving some very serious consideration to peeling the black vinyl wrap off of the B pillars. There’s paint under there, and I think it will look so much better. Is there anyone who would talk me out of that?

 

Just ordered an overlay from one of the ones pointed out down there somewhere. So that took care of that.

 

I know someone else on here that took there pillar tape off, it looks good. Try the search function and I am sure you will find it.

 

It had flat spots in it and looked like crap. They said go through the vendor. The vendor wanted me to buy another set, pay shipping both ways, and use the box to send them back. I said no. Why waste money for that set to do the same thing.

Yes I have seen that. Eight or eleven spot plastic welds is to much for me to possibly mess those up. Fat fingers and plastic weld spots do not make for an easy 1234 process. As much as I would like to take it all apart and paint it the proper way the overlay will be the ticket and it shall stay covered until whenever??

bought it for $15 on ebay however the seller doesn't have it listed anymore so not sure if
maybe it was an item bought from somewhere else and he was just reselling

Damn, I didn’t even know that was an option with the crew max. Love the column shifter and bench seat.

 

A friend came over and I have never really looked at her truck. She has a long bed double cab or what ever you call it (work truck). She bought it because of her relatives farm in Victoria. Her interior is all black from factory and her steering wheel also has the black panels but the Yota emblem is still chrome. I was going to ask her to switch!!! HAHAHAHA!! door handles and vents are all in black. So I now have a vehicle I can verify part numbers when I get around to the dash parts.

Its apparently pretty rare but I am glad I got one, I needed the 6th seat. You have to find a truck without the SR5 package, which also means your stuck with the 26 gallon tank but its still worth it for me for the bench.

 

Yes I know I use it often. But it is nice to see it in person. Thanks for sharing that, for those who don’t know. Also that is four 4 wheel drive and I have posted all the numbers for the two wheel drive.

3rd week of October when I went to see what they had and was literally the only truck they even had and only new
vehicle on the showroom floor, crazy

 

Yeah, the diagram is terrible! My 2017 has the 4WD knob, sorry i didn't realize the newer model, earlier. Someone with a newer year, may need to chime in there, if aware of a different P/N. The one i picked up comes as one piece with the 2 vent rings, black as well.

 

What's been really interesting is everywhere you go parts say they are ok 14-20 models but won't fit the 21 but everything i've ordered
to modify my 21 that "does not fit" has fit every time
I think there's some slow down to update things to show what does and doesn't fit etc

I found a Toyota parts dealership in Texas i'll order the console in black from and they had the full diagram to show the 4x4 and 2wd options

i'm blacking out the rest of the exterior this Wednesday, bumper covers front and back, fender flares with rhino coat and removing the grill and intake and sanding prep and painting matte black to match the grill slats and eliminate the front chrome, replace the TR stickers with all black decals and already put the black metal letter TUNDRA inserts on the gate as well as already did the locking gas cap door/cover and my SR5 already came with all black badges.

 

Just ordered a set of Yokohama Geolandar M/T 305/70r18s. Can't wait to get them installed.
