This is the warmest day I've had all week. I've chiseled ice off the windshield twice and snow every day but today.

When I lived in Gilbert, August through January maybe February, I don't think I ever wore pants unless I was going to work. Full time shorts and sandals, and I refused to leave the house while the sun was up.

 

Off topic here, but does anyone know what anime that GIF is from? I have no idea but I am curious just because of that little shot.

 

When I was working in Florence, expanding the waste water facility at the prison, a new record was set for the most consecutive days that the high was over 120. I think it lasted about 6 weeks. I had men collapse every day. Had someone in the cab of my truck with the AC on almost constantly. I don’t like AZ, sunshine or heat!

Hope I don't jinx myself, but its been pretty mild up in my part of the woods. Little rainy and foggy tonight, so I made the wife and I some comfort food to get us through these hard times.

Damn. Totally making that rib for Eve trade look like it was in God's favor.

 

I have to admit this is the fist time I just cooked them in the oven because it was just too nasty to cook outside. I wasn't expecting great results, but these ribs are among the best I've ever cooked. Go figure.

 

It looks like you wrap them in foil, do you use anything special to braise them in?

 

I've been absent since yesterday and I'm not going back because I think this thread is making my eyesight worse. Just assume I liked everything unless you all were talking about dudes or continued to talk about @gosolo 's pinup girls. Then it's only a thumbs up with a disclaimer.

We went to Fort Hood today - it's about an hour and a half drive. Did some base shopping, saw a crazy pickup truck that had skull tail lights (definitely need to find those for the Bifmobile), and we stopped by a Target north of Austin to do even more shopping because we apparently still had some money left in the bank account.

We are checking out and Mrs. Bandito strikes up a conversation with the couple in front of us about two giant gold plastic eggs that they were buying. Apparently they are filled with toys and this way they don't have to wrap a bunch of shit (what the dude said). I replied "Makes sense to me..." and then noticed he's got a 1% Bandidos Motorcyle Club long sleeve shirt on. Oh, and a nice stabbing knife on his hip with a shiny blood red colored handle.

Fortunately, I was wearing my ToyoMafia shirt which probably struck fear into his heart.

Mrs. Bandito has an issue with her cart where she's constantly pushing it forward without knowing it. She was looking at low carb cookies and I grabbed the cart before she ran into Bandido. Then she starts looking at Heath bars - there goes the cart and I grabbed it before it hit the dudes girlfriend. This happened about 4 times.

She asked them a couple of more questions about candy bars or some shit and I'm just hoping she doesn't blurt out that I go by "Taquito Bandito"...

When they finally checked out, I said "Jesus, woman! Did you see his knife - that's not for cutting, that's for stabbing!" and she says "They seemed like a really nice couple." I'm surprised she didn't ask them over for Christmas.

 

Here's the truck I saw at the base. Those tail lights are amazing.

 

This was the fist time I wrapped them in foil for almost the entire time, and I don't think I'm ever looking back. Here's all I did.

1: Coat the meat with your favorite rub (I use the BRITU blend I found online) and let sit for an hour or two to absorb the rub and have them come up to room temp. Totally wrap them with foil.
2: Preheat to 250 degrees, and then cook them for 2 1/2 Hours.
3: Remove them, turn the oven up to 450, and while its heating up, coat the ribs with your favorite B-Sauce.
4: Cook for 10 minutes uncovered and then enjoy the hell out of them.

 

I think it was real gold too! I should have jumped out and ripped off a piece to have it tested.

 

The longer you look the worse it gets.
