Seems like a ripoff to order from the facotry...unless you just want it all-in the price for financing.

I have a Ford branded backflip on my F150 and the aluminum skin on the panels is delaminating from the rigid core. Probably from poor quality, but also probably from a bit of bashing off ice in the winter. Also a few of the sliding latches seized up. And the gasket by the rear window is peeling off.

My brother got a slightly different backflip a couple years ago and it seems to be lighter and maybe the panels are just solid plastic instead of metal? It has a matte finish on it. Anyone know if they have different panel materials available on the backflip? His also has a rear lip that lets you shut the tailgate without lifting the lid.

How long did it last until starting to delaminate?

A few years I think. Its 5 years old now and all 3 panels have it delaminating. Its worse in the sun when the metal skin expands and bubbles up.

Just in time for winter, too. Always feels good driving through a snowstorm in a well equipped rig.

I've had 3 with zero issues. They have Aluminum or Fiberglass skin. The longest I had was almost 4 years but no sign of any problems. 2 of them I could open and close the tailgate without opening the tonneau cover. I'm in Winnipeg so lots of snow and ice !

Are you using the drain tubes ? Some people do and some don't. Maybe water isn't draining properly and getting between the skins then expanding when it freezes. Just a thought?

I'd double check they aren't plugged up. Even dust accumulating slowly then mixing with water could plug the drains. It would turn into a sludge.
Have you or your Brother ever contacted Bakflip because depending on model they have 3-5 year warranty. The first one I bought had a lifetime warranty because Line ex put their name on it.

With the temporary low inventory if a Canadian dealer wants to sell it above MSRP,
seems they just need to put some mileage on it, then sell it as a used vehicle.
Auototrader search found one. SW Ontario.
    Be aware.

Why would they need to go through this step? They can set any price they want above MSRP for a new one. There is no law to prevent this

Can you post the link? There is no such law! Only law is preventing selling over the advertised price but nothing how to set the price and all the dealers are free to set whatever prices they want. There are dealers around selling for 5% over MSRP and 12K over for Broncos.

It makes it look like it is used or was a demo. I guess it's supposed to make us feel like we're getting less screwed lol

I stand corrected. I thought there was. Damn...

I've never heard of it happening here though. Although I don't hear all things.

I work at a dealership in Ontario and the law does prevent us from listing above MSRP on a new vehicle.

( we don't do the following ) What dealerships can do is either charge fees to get above it, or some are registering the vehicle and then selling them as "used" vehicles, which then allows them to set whatever price. It's a BS practice and Toyota Canada has emailed all dealerships reminding them that we are to take care of customers during such times, not take advantage. That being said, dealers are independent and don't need to follow Toyota's recommendations on all things.

Yes Good looking truck but not impressed with the mileage and he says he takes it easy on the gas. I get 13.5 - 14.0 with the mileage on my 5.7 liter in normal driving.

My 2012 Tacoma gets that in mixed driving. I will be tickled if my new Tundra matches or beats it. That accent isn't from NL, that I can tell you.

North London Toyota are total douchebags. Charge for 2 "free" oil changes and air in the tires.

Heffner Toyota, Kitchener for their 62 years of business does not charge dealership fees or over MSRP on their new inventory.
(Full disclosure I had been a sales associate here for my 8 years and recently become one of the sales managers here)

Still full time Tundra enthusiast however and family overlander haha

Hopefully it gets better as he breaks it in. But when people say they take it easy on the gas, 9 times out of 10 they're full of shit.

The accent sounds Nova Scotian to me. Could be Ontario though. Eastern Canadians are the reason for the stereotypical Canadian accent protrayed in the media. Nobody in the West talks like that at all, unless they're from the east.

I'm pretty sure every dealership charges document fees. Every dealership I've ever been to also says they have the lowest document fees in the province, regardless of whether they charge $200 or $800.

DC or CM? It sure looks like you can spec a DC TRD Sport, at least in Alberta.

Because Toyota Canada negotiates our available units, the TRD Sport Crewmax is not available up here in the 6.5 :(

Only on the doublecab from what we've been told and seen so far on our ordering guides.
