I believe that issue is resolved at this point.

I just had my crystal ball calibrated
The 2023 Sequoia will be insanely over priced.......p.s.. and all will tell you how glad we are running
    away while pinching our nose
It will be uglier than Whoopi in a thong
It will have too many problems so I'm going to wait 20 years until it's safe to buy
The payload will be a deal breaker compared to the Big 3 that needs the extra payload for chains, road flares and other various breakdown equipment
The dealer will rip you off and take your shirt as a souvenir
The grill will look like your grandma's butt crack
The door sticker glue will eat a hole through the door and fall on your foot causing you a need for surgery
It will only come in mauve gem and army pink chiffon
Gas mileage will be horrible compared to Uncle Billy's Blah Blah Blah
You will need to buy the Milli Vanilli app to hear the radio
You will get tow hooks but they will be mounted on the roof rack
The 2.2 1//2 V3 triple turbo moly engine is just stupid compared to the 5.7 V8 (insert the sound of heaven here)

I'm counting my blessings and keeping our 1980 Pinto with the custom factory rear grill and we will pay it off in a couple of months

Faith is not a bad thing and Toyota has earned that much from me. I listened to workers always calling management stupid for things that were happening. They had no idea of everything that went into such decisions

Yes as a manager the folks who are never faced with the tough decisions can rant all they want about how they would do better. 100% agree with you.

That is not the case here. You have multiple examples of others facing the same tough decisions and can see their answers to these dilemmas.

Nobody here is really saying what THEY would do, it's more of pointing out what and how OTHERS have tackled the same problem, and saying "Why!?!?!? Toyota!!"

Based on how Toyota tackled the 1/2 truck market I'm not holding my breath for a better Sequoia. And you can bet your bottom dollar it will be more expensive than the truck.

I'm really excited about the new Sequoia. The wife and I have been waiting soooo long to replace our 03. We both hated the 2nd gen. Almost pulled the trigger on a Yukon more than once, glad I didn't though

The sequoia is a really expensive vehicle. I priced out some really tricked out Yukons for less than my local Toyota was willing to work with. Then again, my 03 has never needed a repair (besides the lift gate handle), so that's a pretty good return on investment

you can roll your eyes all you want..

I think Toyota has put out a very nice truck for 2022. Toyota will get my dollars until they give me what Ford and Chevy has given me in the past.

For me, who pays that kind of money to climb rocks and drive through mud puddles(what, maybe 3% of the trucks use) like a child and then bitch about spending some money. Go buy some tow hooks just like the lift kit, tires..etc. This truck has taken a beating here by folks that haven't even seen one in person let alone drive one

Yes it has taken a beating. Because it deserves it and the majority on here are honest enough (not blind fanboys) to point out why and *mostly* its done in a polite manner to those who are star eyed over the new model.

That said, i hope you're happy in your new rig and enjoy paying for the all new subscription fees to use it. (No sarcasm intended). Its just not appealing to me with what else is offered out there.

Lol, you posted your rant hoping for someone to read and to engage. You're welcome. Be blessed. :hattip:

Edit: A little food for thought friend. A forum's entire purpose is to let folks "eat" and share so others can learn or make an informed decision with hopefully a little more confidence.

Buy what tow hooks? There are no solutions available and most who have taken a hard look can't even figure out how it would be done.

Looks like there's still not much storage behind that 3rd seat :(
I just wish they did something similar to the Yukon and offer an XL version

I would have loved an extended version as well. This might be the only reason for me to go back to a GMC or a Chevy.

I tried looking at the GMC Yukon XL, but couldn't freakin find any. I did drive a Suburban though and wasn't impressed.

I don’t miss how those GM SUVs drive in winter: one rear wheel spins, G80 locker kicks in, your entire rear axle slides, and then the transfer case engages and you move forward while hopefully in the same lane.

I know everyone on the internet is convinced this is the new Sequoia, but that rear window is very small. It sure seems like that is a teaser for the next gen 4Runner to me.

If you change the contrast on the picture it clearly alludes to it being the Sequoia.

It said forest and trees in the presser. Has to be a nod to Sequoia?

I see and even partially agree with you. the part that makes me believe it's the sequoia is because behind the rear glass there's more body panel there than on the 4 runner. the 4 runner has about an inch or so behind that glass before it's at the back panel. the sequoia has more to it allowing for more space (not much admittedly haha)

not saying this proves anything....just my reasoning for believing it

I've read and re-read the press release. No hints at forest or trees. It does say "Something big is coming to the Toyota SUV lineup". The Sequoia is the biggest SUV they make, so Sequoia seems to fit, but definitely no blatant references to a tree.

I see what you're saying about the rear body panel. It just looks like a tiny 3rd window to be on a full size SUV. Maybe my scale is just off.

I agree with the window size. could be because of a new generation, they're changing the lines up a bit. that could be for either the tree or the 4runner too

    Just found this on Autoblog:

I've downloaded the press image, but I can't find the hidden text. Probably because I'm using basic Microsoft software...
