I have a coworker who’s one and only skill is to immediately start digging the proverbial hole and then blame the shovel maker for his problems that we all have to solve.

This is my Monday.

Several things in shaky condition, people I usually IM to pass the time are out, night work scheduled is likely going to cause extra problems and tickets, and I woke up 5 hours early today.





Gonna be a fun one in a few hours.

 

Things are kicking off now. Just ate some left over pizza for the carb energy, cracked a Pepsi Zero, and popping an Aleve with an Excedrin.

To quote a cartoon "It's go time! Get some!"

 

Well, one bit of night work went off without a hitch and is wrapped up, another had the wrong equipment on site and was rolled back. A power outage that killed two sites was repaired, and another site is down due to outside maintenance. So far things have been pretty smooth.

 

I got up 90 min early for a meeting with a customer in Europe. Canceled.

Knew this was a possibility… but it still sucks

 

That bites. That's enough sleep loss you'll feel it, but risky if you decide to lie down to catch an hour more.

 

Reminds me of the day I got up early for a 6 AM meeting with an engineering office in Malaysia only to be laid off at 8:30 AM. I really regretted not delaying that meeting by at least one day.

 

Got a two hour nap in this afternoon since I got to shut down early. Going to regret that tonight, but feeling good right now!

 

Whisky might not help your regret nor help you sleep, but it's worth a try.

 

It's never a good sign when I pull into the parking lot for night shift and there are still a bunch of vehicles. It means stuff broke and people are still here trying to fix it. This week is starting out pretty wonky.

Yup. Some graffiti is art that is quite enjoyable, some is crazy good museum quality, and then there's the stuff that was likely just overspray from an idiot huffing the fumes.
