Just curioius who everyone uses as their cell phone provider.

We've had AT&T since we had Cingular; loved their service and for a while it was good when AT&T bought them out. As of the last few years, their service where we live has steadily declined. It's not unusual at all to get 3 bars 5G...but maybe 1Mbps if I'm lucky, and that's just data. It's been hard to hold a conversation, the connectivity has been so unreliable.

A week or so ago I ran into someone who had no problems carrying on a conversation in a stone and steel building in town where I got squat....and found out she had T-Mobile. *scratches head* For the longest time they've been not on my radar at all because they were known to not have the best reception.

Well...where I live (north of FLW, MO) that has evidently changed. My phone was unlocked so I downloaded the test drive app and was absolutely shocked to discover that even in the sticks where I live, the reception/connectivity is as good if not better than AT&T was. Not only that, but it's quicker to 'acquire' a signal with them.

So we switched and I couldn't be happier. Bill went from $130 to $80 a month; free Netflix (and free AppleTV for a year), and so on. I'm truly shocked...evidently they've seriously been building up their network.

I used to be a diehard Verizon customer until they charged me $700 for "using data" while I was on wifi. They didn't admit the problem was on their end until AFTER the 700 was paid, and refused to refund the money.

I've been Walmart family mobile ever since. (I believe its T-mobile) I'll have spots on a few roads where I don't have signal, but its more reliable than my home wifi and truly unlimited with data. $45 a month. I'm happy with it.

I tossed AT&T after 15 years and have been with T-Mobile for five years or so. They have decent pricing, and receiption isnt too horrible on our end. Only one minor billing error, which was quickly credited when I addressed it

T-Mobil here as well. Was a long time AT&T customer, but their plans were very expensive. Made the switch and haven’t looked back.

I have been with Verizon for over twenty years. Not because their the cheapest and definitely not because they have the best customer service. I have stayed with them so long because their service area (or whatever you call it) is second to none in the areas that I frequent. When I go ATVing in upstate NY and PA I am the only person that can reach emergency services if need be. That’s important in my opinion. My family members who I go with have AT&T, T Mobile, and Sprint. Verizon has excellent service through the most mundane areas which I appreciate.

I used to have Cingular back in the day, and loved them. But, when AT&T bought them out my service went to shit. I couldn't make a call from my house when the switch happened. I had to walk outside and down the road a bit to make a call on my cell. After the second week I went to Verizon. The only reason I have stayed with Verizon for so long is that once you get outside the city all the other services suck around here. One place I worked at told us straight up that only Verizon works in this area, and it was briefed to us because so many people ask that question on the first day. It was funny because I was one of the few that already had them, and I was having to let other new people borrow my phone to make calls for information they need from family. My neighbor works for Comcast and told me the other day that Comcast uses Verizon's network. He said that Verizon tried to get out of it but Comcast sued them and won, so now they have to met the terms of the contract. If you get Comcast cell phone plan it's Verizon. I haven't looked into prices but he told me I would save a lot of money if I switch.

Verizon here just because they have far and away the most complete coverage in MT. That said... Definitely understand that there may be better options out there for me, but haven't looked into them. Aka what @Forcefed alluded to.

AT&T here, they utterly suck fucking ass like most tech companies but they seem to have good coverage. I pay like $200/mo for two phones with the highest data cap for high speed hot spotting so I can work anywhere too.

Had AT&T for years and really liked it as far as cell service and also with my company cell phone. Years ago (maybe 2012) decided to use my company phone (AT&T) as a personal phone, figured what the hell, save $100+ a month, get a phone upgrade every two years.

Few years ago my company sent out a mass email if we switch to Verizon if could save the company $5k a month. We were given the option to stay with AT&T, but I didn't want to be that guy. Verizon service sucks. Diving to see family in semi rural areas, no service. owell

They wouldn't fix it for you and credit your account? Also Boost Mobile uses the sprint network so here pretty soon you will be using Tmobile again.

Xfinity Mobile for about 4 years now. I believe they're on Verizon network, its been good to me no complaints. 45/mo for unlimited and auto connects to network hotspots. Only thing though you gotta be a Comcast customer and have internet.

AT&T for about 15 years. I have checked pricing and there's really not anything better for what I am getting. My plan is older and we have a military discount so I pay $160/mo. total for four iPhones, two iPads, and my Apple Watch. AND we get HBOMax included. The coverage in our area is about equal between the carriers. I have been places where AT&T had the only coverage and others where Verizon had the only coverage. AT&T customer service has actually gotten better for me over the past couple of years, but I don't think any of them have stellar customer service.

For AT&T folks, make sure you install and use the Mark The Spot app to report ANY issues with coverage - voice OR data. AT&T really uses that information to make improvements, though it may take years to install a new tower. Other services may have something similar.

if all of your phones are unlocked, Visible is a great option. For my family of four with "unlimited data", it was exactly $100. You may want to check local reviews for Verizon coverage in your area. As I've gotten older, I find myself being more stingy with money. The amount of money we were spending to scroll facebook and watch youtube was insane with AT&T.

Just ditched Verizon. Never had very reliable service here in Florida and prices were high.
Switched to T Mobile a few months ago and we’ve been very happy. Much improved service so far and saved almost $60 a month on bill…while still having the unlimited plan.

The T Mobile network probably got better when they merged with Sprint. I've found in the 15+ years eith AT&T (since they were Cingular Wireless), they've had spotty rural coverage and don't really have great options/freebies.

I did indeed - I updated it so often it wasn't funny...and about every 3-6 months I'd call and go into great detail about how crap their service was, with stats and everything.

All they would do is 'send a technician onsite' (uh huh) to verify everything was working well. I explained that while yes, I had 3 bars, there's a difference between signal strength and bandwidth, and that you don't get decent throughput if the towers are saturated.

They'd just fall back to "Well....you get 3 bars...."

Where I live, AT&T/T-Mobile are 'best,' followed by US Cellular and then distantly by Verizon. 10 years ago or so they were supposedly the best but for some reason their service has seriously dropped off here.

I switched from Verizon to Visible about 1.5 years ago. Although I didn't switch much, since Visible IS Verizon, just another of their companies. Cut my bill in half. You get all the 4 and 5G of Verizon, no 3G though, so if you're way out in the sticks, it can suck. And they will throttle Visible at times. Otherwise, been pretty content.

Cell phones were barely in existence when I was stationed in Great Falls....1992-1996. Times were much simpler back then.

I've been with T-Mobile for around 12 years.

My work phone is a Verizon phone.

I left T-Mobile for about a year to switch to Sprint, just before T-Mobile announced they would be taking over Sprint. The networks are still two separate companies, for all intents and purposes, and Sprint coverage sucked. Generally speaking, I get better coverage with my T-Mobile phone than the Verizon work phone I am also carrying 24/7. T-Mobile also has great plans if you travel internationally. Pricing seems better than the other major providers when I have explored them in the past too.

I’ve had Verizon since it was Bell Atlantic in my area. My kids keep upgrading at discounted rates so I seem to be stuck with them. Xfinity in my area seems like what I would switch to if I was able at this time. No complaints whatsoever with Verizon’s coverage in SOMD.

Consumer Cellular , flawless service and 55 bucks a month for 2 phones. 5 gig data plan, unlimited talk & text. They use AT&T towers, which is what I had before switching, and price per month is what got me to CC.

If you have Xfinity Internet (subscriber requirement) and don't use a lot of data, Xfinity mobile is tough to beat.

No line fees. Free unlimited talk and text. Shared data = $15/mo 1gb. $30/mo 3gb. $60/mo 10gb. $10/mo Apple watch which includes data. Xfinity has wi-fi hotspots everywhere around here, plus consumer routers broadcast two additional network signals. So... if you are anywhere around someone with Xfinity at home or work your phone connects automatically. No passwords... just hooks up in the background.

We have 4 iPhones and an Apple Watch. Total bill for the month for all devices combined is $35 including taxes. That's total for all five devices, not for each one. If we didn't have the Apple watch which costs $10/mo, our bill for 4 iPhones would be about $25/mo. About $6 per phone after taxes is tough to beat.

Been on ATT for a long time, I’d like to move to a MVNO but the HBO benefit is nice and I get a discount through work as well as a discount on my home internet.
