Has anyone put one of the wireless console phone chargers in a pro truck? I see the kit listed online for about 100$. What’s involved with wiring.

If you’re talking about the Toyota charger, it’s pretty simple. Take console apart and it plugs into the rear charging port connector, if I remember correctly.

It’s junk. It’s out dated charger tech that struggles to charge any modern phone with a large capacity battery. Add a case and it’s even more worthless. Save your money.

I agree. You could buy an Anker wireless charger and be better off than the OEM Toyota one.

I disagree, It charges fast enough. I use mine every day with my galaxy z flip 3. If you are expecting 25w wired charging speed yea your expectations will leave you disappointed. But it's not terrible slow. Worth the install in my opinion, I don't regret buying or installing it.

It's 10 or 15 watts wireless charging which is standard. Like I said, worth it IMO.

I installed the factory charger which I bought from Sparks. Super easy install. There’s a couple of install videos on you tube. I believe Gear Runner, and Tundra Dude 34 have 5% discount codes.

    Mine works fine.
But it gets my iPhone X a little hot sometimes.
So hot in the summer the phone locks up.

Thinking about putting a thin layer of some kind of rubber on it.

I’ve had mine for about a year or a little more.

It was relatively inexpensive and easy to install and I prefer the clean look without chords up front.

My only issue is that occasionally I’ll hit a pot hole or run down a bumpy patch of road and the phone will shift off the mark and stop charging. It doesn’t happen enough or cause much inconvenience, so I still prefer to have it vs. the alternative.

It charges my samsung note 9 really fast with case, the only problem is that its a tight fit and when I upgrade I will need to find a phone with the exact dimensions or smaller.

I don't like mine. I have the Samsung Note 20 5G. It charges for a few seconds, stops and then charges again. Continously cycling.

It's a well documented and searchable issue on the forum.

A lot of people on here including myself have had issues wirelessly charging on the armrest with iPhones that also contain the MagSafe charging components. I think that is IPhone 12 and higher

My iPhone before the 12 worked flawlessly on the charger. As soon as I upgraded it will charge for maybe a minute and then stop. Thinking apple moved or changed out some of the old qi charging technology and it has caused issues when not using MagSafe for wireless charging. Same issue occurred on a wireless charger I had inside my home

Even if I wanted to install, I have a Galaxy S21 Ultra that doesn’t lay flat in the console. Useless for me.

Installed the Toyota one from Sparks as well. Love it. It especially pays off having it when you are on a road trip and every wired port in the truck is in use by family devices. iPhone 13 pro max with the clear ESR kickstand case.

Depends on the phone, and how you use it. I use wireless Android Auto, stream music and use Waze. It just barely charges faster than I consume it.

It is love/hate over here. I had one in my 2015 Tundra until I bought my '21 Limited. That is the one item that I haven't transferred over all because I wanted to take advantage of Android auto (wired). I have been looking for a good wireless adapter for AA and I will install it again. Until than it will stay packed away.

BTW, my phone has a Otter Box Defender case and I never had a problem with charging.

Easy to install....I think the instructions are available online to print out. Clear instructions with plug and play adapters to make it easier.

$100 bucks is a steal. I thought getting mine at $129 brand new was a steal.

thats interesting that it’ll stop working properly. I just installed one and works great with my iPhone 11pro max. Hopefully stays that way when I upgrade phones in the future

He's probably comparing it to the space before it's swapped out with the charger. The charger makes the space a little larger.

I have to agree. I got mine at sparks parts. Although it can be a little finicky as you have to place the phone just right if its in a case. It’s a good option if your wired charger gets a little beat up. The space is a little useless and perfect for a wireless charger so why not make it useful.

I installed this about a year ago and it worked flawlessly with my iPhone 8 plus, just got a new iPhone 13 Pro Max and now it doesn't work at all. I've tried
a few different cases but no joy.

Yep, worked great with my iPhone 11pro Max. Just upgraded to the 13pro Max and it constantly gives me the red button. I read it may have something to do with it not laying flat which is a problem due to do the giant camera on the phone. The chat rep from sparks says it may have something to do with the charger output not meeting the phones required power?

Once apple went to the MagSafe charger (iPhone 12 and later) it messed up the old wireless charging that the truck uses. Just a buyer beware for people thinking installing this.
