I thought it was a chili burger or a jalapeño burger. Either way it beats the bologna sandwich I had.

Yep. I'll eat anything besides olives and raw tomatoes.

 

Olives are OK on a pizza, and raw tomatoes are good on hot stuff like tacos or burgers. For me at least.

 

I love raw tomatoes. Not a fan of olives.

Had just about the same meal last night, minus the beer. A small TX franchise called Rodeo Goat. Bacon grilled onions, and grilled hatch chiles; plus a GF bun and great fries. Andy's Frozen Custard after. Makes a guy feel a bit like a king.

 

Tomatoes are one of those foods I can't get why people don't like. Olives, Brussels sprouts, pimento cheese, liver & onions... all food I like but I understand someone's aversion. But not sure what there is about a tomato to hate. A little s&p or mozzarella and olive oil [kisses pursed fingers like a narcissistic French chef]. Raw, roasted, fried, grilled... all tasty.

I haven't had the experience of eating them on a grilled cheese sandwich...

 

I think the problem is a lot of the store bought ones taste like wood and look like baseballs. Though that's true of a lot of fruit and I don't hear as many people talking about hating peaches, for example. Could be partially the acidity. My wife could not eat tomatoes when she was pregnant.

I keep forgetting to try making a grilled cheese with tomatoes when I have them in the house.

 

It is all about the texture. I’ve hated tomatoes most of my life. A few years ago I started forcing myself to eat them because they are so healthy and it continues to be a struggle. I do enjoy the super sweet cheery-size versions. But for the normal size tomatoes they do have to be dressed up.

 

Agree on taste. I get fresh tomatoes every two years or so, and definitely enjoy them more than store bought. Not sure if the tomato's acid changes the brain's response to its sugar; but a peach (or other fruit) has about twice as much sugar, and I'd bet that's the difference between people liking a peach versus a tomato.

Should be sleeping. Normal amount of caffeine today (err, yesterday). Wide awake.

Had one of those episodes where you fall asleep fast and have some crazy dream that wakes you up after 10-15 min. Think my body decided that if that is what sleeping is like, we shall just stay awake. Good times.

 

That sucks. I feel your pain, or rather, i have felt it. Crazy dreams that ruin sleep suck.

Fortunately I'm flipping to graves for Wednesday night, so I'm up playing video games to pass the time.

 

Well, I'm going to lie down with some music in my ears. Hope to sleep, but we'll see.
