What are people running for rear suspension in the back for sag with some of these rtt and camper shell setups?

I enjoy having a bit of rake and torn on what to use for handing sag from a bed build out. Either going to stay stock sr5 height or go to 2 inches in front. Will need something in rear either way

    Too many, but not enough....
Can go add a leaf, full leaf pack, blocks, shackles, roadmaster active suspension, airbags, lots of options. Shackles probably the best bang for buck.

shackles won’t cause issues with leafs flattening after off-roading?

You should not have this issue if you have proper bump stops. With a heavy load and any lift in the back more than an inch, you should get better bump stops. I have durobumps with a 1.75" shackle lift in back.

    Lots of shenanigans.
So I am currently waiting on parts but everything has been ordered. This is the route that I went:

    -Sumo Bump Stops SSR-610-40
    -Alcan Custom Leaf Springs
    -Coachbuilder +3 Shackle Kit

Not gonna lie, it was pricey but I figured that if I am gonna swap out the leafs might as well upgrade the whole thing.

By the way I have a lot of weight in the rear and my leafs are flat too rn.

I have the Toytech 3 inch shackles and I'm wondering if that's made things worse... I was thinking about possibly just adding an extra leaf. Is there any problems you guys know with that?

I've been section hiking the Appalachian Trail the past 4 years. Recently accumulated a bunch of glamping gear in anticipation of some family trips next year. So my last section hike I decided to setup basecamp at a state park and do a series of day hikes on the AT instead of lugging all my gear on my back. Ate and slept like a king every night! I almost felt guilty living it up so good, but I have paid my dues through the years so I don't care!

Just got back from a 5 day trip on Mojave Road starting in AZ -> Nevada -> CA. Was amazing trip and tundra did amazing until last day when I hit a nice little whoop to fast and blew out the TRD struts. Ironically I had an Icon Stage 6 on order but didn't make in time. Put in the system the weekend after getting back. Highly recommend the trip to anyone looking to do it.

What do you think someone’s off-road experience level should be at in order to do that trip?

Mojave was actually really simple. I grabbed the suggested GPS map file from overlandtrailguides.com and imported into Gaia. Used an iPad with Gamin SONOS GPS for Navigation while cell reception was down. Worked really well. I can see non lifted trucks doing this pretty easy if you went slow. Nothing really crazy at all. There were FJs, Land Cruisers and Jeeps out there also but would only run into them 1 or 2 times a day. only had to put into 4 wheel drive a couple of times, mostly for down hill control without having to use the brakes to much.

Think I’m going to try the RXTs with option 1 first. Will have abound 400 pounds constant and want to maintain stock height / rake for a bit. Hopefully they will sag back to stock height after the 400 pounds.

Is anyone using bed stiffeners in here ? Unnecessary on a tundra ?

I had some Cali raised bed stiffeners. Didn’t notice a difference then had to remove them once I added the Leitner bed rack.

A lot here think they are necessary. IMO they aren't except on the early models(I think Toyota addressed the issue at some point?). But I suppose they do provide peace of mind and probably can't hurt. Should have just said, I'm not getting them.
