Weekend progress...getting VERY CLOSE to having everything assembled.

Whole bunch of City sets - Police Station, Airport, Bike Shop/Pizza joint with Transit bus, Farm, lots of individual vehicles
    IMG_3196(1).HEIC.jpg

City commuter train, 50th Anniversary City Plan (Town Hall, Service Station/Carwash under the instructions, and Movie Theater), Carnival Rides (behind the Castle) and some "Monster Hunter" stuff.
    IMG_3197.HEIC.jpg

Indiana Jones planes, Delorean Time Machine, Misc Creator stuff, some Speed Champions, and a few of the limited edition Christmas freebies
    IMG_3198.HEIC.jpg

Then I found some of my old classic Space sets, including the parts to one I no longer had the instructions for but vaguely remembered. Re-Brick-Able and Bricklink to the rescue, though I need to round up a few missing parts.
    IMG_3194.HEIC.jpg

(The one clear piece is actually defective from the factory - I remember that from when I first got it).
    IMG_3195.HEIC.jpg

    IMG_3200.HEIC.jpg

I'm down to three Creator sets to finish assembling, then finding all the "spare parts"

According to Rebrickable, I've got 62 sets and just over 43,000 parts... and that doesn't include all the loose parts we've bought from the "by the pound" bin over the years.

I've been eyeing this for a few months. Looks pretty big though.

I also saw they have a lighting kit for it with and without music as well. Would be pretty cool with all the lights

Redid the dump bed of the Mack dumptruck MOC using the grey panels for the “precast walls” from the red Rough Terrain crane. Then I bought a few more panels and rebuilt the connex from the original Mack truck kit and made up a spreader bar so that the crane can hoist the connex.

Operation: Lego Inventory is nearly complete.
    61 sets
43,000+ pieces (plus all the loose pieces not in sets)
Every one has assembled, confirmed, checked against the “extra parts” list for each set on Rebrickable, photographed, dismantled and individually bagged. I’ve got some missing pieces I need to order, and then finally determination on which ones we’ll keep and which ones we’ll sell.

Left tote is Creator 3-in-1 sets.
Right tote is the six City Block sets we had (Parisian Restaurant, Corner Grand Emporium, Green Grocer, Fire Brigade, Pet Shop, and Detective Agency)

8 foot table has all the City, Monsters, and Indiana Jones sets, along with some Holiday Limited editions and a few Speed Champions.

This is awesome; I already ordered my wife and kids sets for Christmas. I guess I am nervous about the supply chain issue.

Got my oldest the Land Rover Defender technics set.

Got my youngest the hedwig Harry Potter set.

Got my wife the red Jeep Wrangler nifeliz set to match the jeep I bought for her and am restoring.

I got this for my wife for her birthday - we bought a 1990 red jeep wrangler that I am in the process of fixing up for her. I will say this is the hardest set I have come across - ten bags of pieces, none numbered and the instructions are very difficult to follow. I am about 2/3 of the way finished for her to display in her office. She loves the jeep - happy wife, happy life.

That's awesome. I had thousands of parts in bins from dozens and dozens of sets that I essentially gave away at a garage sale in 2003, including that exact same black and gold space set, 6941. Just seeing that set brings back many memories.

We do dumb things when we're young.

Damn. I remember growing up without very many lego kits if any at all and having to creatively build something from the 1001 generic legos I had. Although, I did have more flexibility with the parts they provided (i.e. hinges, tires, etc.)

    Interesting.
I started the Nifeliz FJ40 last night and all the bags were numbered, instructions are clear, it’s been a great set so far.
This is the end of “set” 1
    upload_2021-11-18_14-31-59.jpg

now, that said, my understanding is that these knockoff companies basically take an MOC that has been posted to a site like Rebrickable or Eurobrick and they then change the color, add a few custom details (the FJ kit has a grill that says TOYOTA for instance), and then package it for sale under their own name. So it very well could be that the quality of instructions is based on the level of detail the original MOC creator put into their build. I know some of those guys do some very professional results.

This is the final build of the wrangler

    The Land Rover is tempting.
I see Nifeliz has a larger Jeep too, but not red. Wonder if it builds any better

Found a pretty cool app called Brickit to use with the kids. It allows you to inventory the sets you have and will tell you if what else you can build with the pieces from those sets. It also allows you to use the camera on your phone to scan a spread of pieces and it will suggest what you can build from those pieces.

The scanning feature is a trip.

I made a simple LEGO table by double side taping some of the flat green squares to a piece of plywood. It sits on the coffee table and is currently dominated by various Harry Potter sets in several states of assembly/disassembly.
