On the state line between Washington and Oregon. Toyota, Subaru, Ford all pretty full. Had a hard time finding a parking spot at Toyota.

Cap? What are we 12 calling people liers? Like I said, another owner showed that he was able to get 24 mpgs, but specifically stated that you had to try and keep it out of boost. No lying, just like Tim was not lying either, but he was driving in very different conditions and said many times that the wind was blowing extremely hard and that he was constantly in boost which killed his mileage

I love driving though the Dakotas not on the interstate. My 2.7 F-150 easily got 24mpg+ on these 60mph drives. I have no doubt the new Tundra will get similar on these trips.

Is the powerboost any indication on how the iforce max will perform ? Putting aside the technical differences between the 3.5L base architecture, the ev systems are similar and there are multiple videos on YouTube showing the power boost in really good conditions getting 25+ in the city and 26-28 on the highway.

Is it worth getting my hopes up that the tundra will at least match that ?

I have that truck, might not be the best for his needs. Unless someone requires HD capabilities I would recommend sticking to the 1/2 tons as a daily driver. Rides great on good roads; will beat you up on bad roads and potholes. Also there isn’t a 6.2 in the HD’s, has its cousin the 6.6 gasser.

Definitely agree with you. I had an F250 that I used as a daily driver. I only needed the extra bed space occasionally. Those class of trucks are built to work, not haul air. I felt every bump in the road because the suspension was very stiff, to obviously handle the tow/hauling capabilities. I am sure there are mods to soften it up but it wouldn't be cheap. The one benefit to the pre-'22 Tundras getting crappy MPGs is there isn't much of a difference if changing to one of the HD models.

2.7 F-150 ... is there any details about the longevity of that engine?

While I'm no expert on this stuff, that engine is made of compacted graphite, I believe. I've not heard tons about it, but everything I've heard is good; my guess is that *as long as* it's maintained well, it'll probably last for a while.

Locally here in upstate NY, my local ford dealer is marking up $5k. Way to fuck the small local community who has been supporting your company for 50 years.

I would never pay over MSRP for a truck much less a ford. I wouldn't' even pay MSRP for a ford.

I'm a long time Toyota guy, have a 15 Tacoma and wife drives a 2022 ORP T4R but I'm not a fan of the huge grill on the new Tundra and the 3.31 rear end and lack of front tow hooks are a deal breaker for me. I'll likely be ordering a Tremor with the 402A package this week.

I think the Tremor is a good off-roader compromise truck, but I wouldn't call any F150 "sweet looking". Their styling is very plain.

Which rear end does the Tremor get? 3.55?

Keep in mind that it is the total gear ratio that actually matters and even though the new Tundra has a 3.30 compared to the 4.30 of the old truck, the new one is actually geared lower due to the transmission.

Agreed, out of all the trucks, I think Ford is my least favorite as far as looks go. They do look good once you do some mods on them, but the plain F150 just looks very plain and I would describe it as a grandpa truck. Tremor is better and after some mods they do look decent.

All tremors come standard with the ecoboost and 3.73 rear end. Can’t change it. Only option is to add front locker.

Well, Torsen diff, not really a locker, but close-ish. The 402A also comes with the Raptor transfer case which is a pretty big deal.

Different strokes for different folks, I think the new Tundra grill is MASSIVE and just looks like an oversized 3rd Gen Taco,(which I also don't care for). I also think those rear taillights are terrible.

I guess the Ford could be described as plain, but I like it, looks more classic.

Do you have the transmission gear ratios on handy? I couldn't find them and am curious.

This is the Tremor's for reference, with final drive ratios

I’ve been looking at Ford as well, up front seems to be a good value compared to the 2022 Tundra…But have realized that the “old” low tech Tundra was considerably cheaper than its rivals. Now the updated Tundra falls inline.

Corolla is a little more $$ than the Fiesta
RAV4 is a little more than the Escape
Hilander is a little more than the Exploder
Tacoma is a little more than the Ranger

And now the Tundra is a lot more than the F150! But when production catches up to demand the Tundra will just be a little more.

So back to reliability/resale! All of the Toyota's are more reliable and for the most part have better resale. Will the 2022 Tundra be as reliable as the other Toyota’s? For sure there will be a few issues out of the gate but I have no doubt Toyota will quickly correct any issues.

And to be honest the Gen3 kinda looks like shit with the tiny OEM tires, but leveled/lifted with 35’s completely transforms it :101010:
