Yep. The 2 most boring fish I've ever fished for are walleye and bass. Both will eat pretty much anything you put in front of them and both just roll over on their side and let you reel them in. No challenge, no fun. Give me Pacific salmon, trout, char, or sturgeon any day. Drag smoking runs, tail walking, cartwheeling, and big jumps. Each species has it's own fighting style too. Coho love to do a barrel roll next to the boat, chinook like to sound to the bottom and sulk, rainbows will put on acrobatics that should be in the circus....

Smallmouth are fun as hell but largemouth just roll on their side like you said. Probably the closest pound for pound to a trout/salmon for fight but still doesn’t quite compare.

Our fisheries division focuses on trout. Every once in awhile they will trade with NJ for pike/tiger Muskie. Fishermen have asked for them to diversify, but they quote studies from the 1950s as to why our lakes won’t sustain them, but CT is able to stock them just fine. For a state that claims to be green and eco conscious, they suck at funding their F&W and state parks

We have great small mouth in the Susquehanna, wonderful trout streams across the state and large mouth in the lakes. I will now then head up to New York for the fall salmon run, that’s always fun with the fly rod. Haven’t gone out to fish musky. Always wanted to, heard they are great eating. My bucket list would be to fly fish down in Florida for Tarpon. Any Florida brothers or sisters here experience that?

From a few years back. I have a nearby lake that you would never think would have musky in it. It is not very big but loaded with big musky. I don't fish there enough. I didn't get a length of this guy.

As you can see I was eating when the fish hit at the side of the boat.

Are the muskies the ones that have fangs or are those carps? Either way, it's only a matter of time before one of those big bastards listens to its shark cousins and decides to eat people.

Heavily chlorinated pools are my jam.
