Changed the transfer case fluid using Toyota's liquid gold at 39,000 miles in preparation for installing Valhalla's Shield front and rear plates. The fluid looked perfect, so I'm going to go another 60,000 miles before I change it again. Still need to flush the transmission as I don't want to have to take those plates off for a good long while once they are on.

Mounted a full size 35” spare. It’s really tight with CB +3 shackles, but it fits! I also drilled out the rivets on the stock spare tire brackets and removed them. Lastly, I used pipe insulation to cover the metal frame in an attempt to prevent the indentations it left on my stock spare tire.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that too. Yes, I drilled out the rivets on the stock spare tire brackets and removed them. You can also take a circular saw and cut off the part that hangs. However, I felt drilling out the rivets and removing them completely is a cleaner look.

I had some melting of the rubber from the exhaust pipe on mine when I did this. Just a heads up

Awesome. Been waiting for someone else to verify a 35 can fit! Thanks!! I will also be drilling out the rivets on the stock guides and using a pool noodle to cover the frame above to prevent scuffing. Thanks again!!

Try mounting a small PC of fire proof wrap or board to the exhaust with a metal hose clamp right where the contact point is? Perhaps it will insulate the rubber and absorb some of the heat Just? Just an idea not sure if there is even room for that tho but I'm planning to stuff a 35 under there as well (but I've also got stock exhaust and it's single pipe)

My oldest asked for a treehouse for his birthday. So the other day, I went to the lumber yard after work and picked up the first round of supplies.

I have 640lb of concrete (8 x 80lb bags) and ~500 lb of treated lumber in the bed (in addition to the 2nd battery which just lives back there). Between myself and my work gear, I had maybe another 300 lb in the cab. I also have skids, oversized tires, a retractable bed cover, console safe, etc. It all adds up, and in this pic, I’m probably sitting at 1800lb over my curb weight.

    162BF80E-68D6-4C5F-88E2-C97EDF40BE87.jpg

I sure wish my truck was rated for 1800lb of payload, because it handled it just fine. I haul loads like this maybe once or twice a year very slowly and carefully for the occasional project around my house.

I’m running the TRD Fox kit with CB2 shackles. It handled great and squatted a little bit. I think I’m going to go ahead and install some air bags with cradles.

Nice, This is my goal so you give me hope. I also have CB +3 and TRD duel exhaust. How close is the spare to the exhaust?

My wife said no way not happening.... I asked how mad she'd get if the supercharger accidentally happens. I got "the look" and she said try me

I'd like one of these, how did you feel about drilling holes in the roof? Long term you think they'll stay sealed from leaking? How far do you drill into it?

    Nice setup!
