    Just some food for thought here , When I retrofitted my 2019 with a Cooler kit , I also removed the trans pan and installed a bung for a Autometer Trans Temp gauge sender so that I could read pan temps all the time without the use of an obd reader .
    My findings were that My autometer gauge reads consistantly about 20 degrees cooler that my obd scan tool for trans pan temps . I have come to the conclusion that this is due to the OE internal trans temperature sensor is actually located in the valve body of the trans , It monitors the fluid temp after its already been sucked up . So in theory when monitoring trans pan temps using an obd reader , it is not really a true trans pan temp reading . your pan temps are cooler than you think ! .

    I am new to Tundra (I am a former Tacoma World member). I recently purchased a new Lexus GX 460 (with the 1UR-FE engine and A760F transmission) so I have been scouring the Web for useful information. Thanks to sites like Tundra and Tacoma World, I learned about the Uni filter mod for the secondary air pump, the a/c drain extension, the rear differential vent extension, ScanGauge2 and so on.

    I recently installed a ScanGauge2 and have a couple of observations regarding the transmission temperature reading (as it applies to my vehicle):

    - I have read on a few sites that the ScanGauge displays two (2) distinct transmission temperatures and that one is higher than the other. More specifically, that the lower reading is for the pan fluid temperature and the higher for the torque converter. According to pages 130 through 134 of the 2010 “Toyota Tundra - New Features” technical data sheet (you can find it on-line or I can email whoever wants a copy) regarding the Aisin A760F transmission there are two (2) distinct temperature sensors inside the transmission housing, they are both located just above the filter, but their functions are not for reading pan and torque converter temperatures. The technical data sheet states that:

    - “The ATF temperature sensor No. 1 (THO1) is used for hydraulic pressure control. This sensor is used for revision of the pressure that is used to apply clutches and brakes in the transmission. This helps to ensure smooth shift quality.”

    - “The ATF temperature sensor No. 2 (THO2) is used as a basis for modifying the ECT shift timing control when the ATF temperature is high. It is also used for the ATF temperature warning light.”

    I entered the four (4) X-gauges applicable to Toyota-Lexus-Scion Specific CANSF for 2010+ into my ScanGauge2. I named them TF1 through TF4. Only “TF3” gave data when I turned on the vehicle:

    MTH 00090005FFD8
    Name TFT

    I renamed “TF3”, TFT. Just an observation, for what it’s worth.

    The folks at ScanGauge are very friendly and helpful. I think if you reach out to them they should be able to walk you through the problem. If I was able to find one code to work your vehicle should have the same result. Do you have the Aisin A760 series transmission?

    Nope, you have the AB60F. There is information on-line for that model. You could also log onto TIS for $20.00 to access the maintenance manual for your specific vehicle. For example, my transmission has to be between 115-126 degrees Fahrenheit in order to check for proper level of fluid.

    Regarding the ScanGauge2 and my transmission’s normal temperature readings, I finally took the vehicle out for a 300 mile round trip down to Key West. Outside air temperature was between 75-71 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest reading of the day was 199 degrees Fahrenheit for a few seconds during acceleration onto the expressway. The rest of the day the transmission ran between 185-195 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Did yours register temperature right away? I tried on my ‘21 and only the pan temp worked. I figured the torque converter one wasn’t valid, but now I need to go back and try again.

    Can you get the *fWT to work? That one didn't require Xgauge programming on mine to come up. Wasn't sure what it was but figured out it was coolant temp in degrees F water Temp.
    At first my mind read it as *WTF
