As far as Texas is concerned, it isn’t snowing! Plus I went to an Auto X Sunday and I was in shorts and a T shirt

 

It will be concerning when Texas snows (or Houston for that matters). Actually, scratch that, this Feb was brutal for most, but I came from the north, so it was fine....but cold for sure.

 

I was there in Feb '21 during the freeze - it was brutal on Eagle Mountain Lake west Ft Worth -

Hello, I had previous order R607710274. Powder coated black, aluminum skid plates front and rear.

It came with 2 total spacer plates. I think I needed a total of 4 plates, 2 on each side as the plate seems to press a bit tight on the front differential. How do I go about getting these?

 

I'm lazy & don't want to look...

do I need to take off both of these plates to do a trans drain & fill? or just the rear one.

Your answer will directly correlate to my level of future procrastination.

 

You will need to remove both plates

 

I am hoping to get someone from San Antonio to come to me to design the Cat plates for it!

I would have to say that I have ordered the back cat shield, but didn't install them yet since I got lazy. But having the front seemed to at least have the CAT thief move onto the tundra that was parked next to mine.

Sounds to me like we now have a market for Fumoto extended length transmission drain and fill plug valves...........

I could have added a hole to drain the transmission pan, but the problem is you need to replace the transmission filter at the same time

 

The trans filter is just a screen that isn’t recommended to be replaced. People snap pan bolts trying to get to it just to find out it isn’t dirty.

 

Damn right, i would too in a heartbeat. Taking off those plates is the single biggest dread I have.

I have a tranny cooler kit to put on, and I have to take the plates off for a regear in about a month. Thinking i am going to leave them off for the 500 mile break in period and knock out those miles as fast as possible while also putting on the tranny cooler kit. I just hope my truck doesnt get hit on those few days..... What makes it worse is that I didnt put on bolt head protectors for my security bolts and wouldnt you know it, the only place i scratched the skids offroading was DIRECTLY over the head of the bolt, now I have to grind it off and the security bolt company has been out of stock for months on these bolts.

 

There's magnets in there, though; aren't there? Or are the only magnets on the plug? Those could use a wipe every now and again.

 

I think I read somewhere if you unravel a wire hanger, thread it through the bolt hole and over the frame crossmember, then just twist tie it a few times, it's fine.

 

So we have an over achiever I see, JB weld would be much easier I think....

 

Those red plates are awesome looking! I’d have to tape mirrors to the tops of my boots so I could check em out every time I got in my truck!

 

Yes, they will fit. Just installed my plates and sliders a little over a week ago. I modified the clips for the rear plate (photo attached).

 

I think it’s just the plug.
