Is there a button to disable the plastic wind brake too? We need a lot of buttons for disabling stuff on this truck. Of course I’ll probably just disconnect the stupid thing.

Depending on the actual circumstances, it might be better to lose one truck vs. both over the cliff. At least nobody gets hurt and hopefully the truck is insured. On top of that everyone has a ride back to civilization.

I have looked at many pictures and have read plenty who have said, they can be ordered as an accessory. Does anyone have any information at all regarding such?

Should be as easy as removing the active airdam and bolt hooks to the frame.

I am hoping to never need them. I have recently watched a 2007 get stuck in the mud, without the tow hooks he would still be there. Couldn't get to him from behind.

Never needing would be great. Not having them if needed would not be so great was my thinking

There are a lot of ways to need a pull. I needed 2 last year in a very capable Xterra.

    1) Water over iced up fallen limbs - needed a yank from the front.
    2) Rutted road - sand - sidewall of ruts collapsing under weight - could have gone either way but ended up getting a little extra pull from the back.

I’d replied earlier asking about D-ring shackle locations on the frame but missed with was a 22 thread. Everyone that takes a truck off-road should know where and how to connect. Who knows who is going to show up to help and what they might try.

When I offroad on the beach here, they have minimum equipment required for the vehicle and the Park Police can inspect you to check. One of those items is tow hooks. (other items include air compressor, tow strap, fire ext., spare tire, etc.)

that and its just stupid not to have tow hooks on a 1/2 ton truck, needed or not

terrible optics, especially on the off-road models.

I think the best tow hook option will be the replacement front bumper. Like all new trucks it seems this truck also needs more front ground clearance anyway.

Here is a video of a guy trying to figure out where a tow hook would mount on a 2022.

They have tie downs for transit, just like a 2wd tundra that doesnt have tow hooks. That guy didnt even look hard.

so you are saying the tow hooks can be installed through the tie-down spaces. The guy on the video made it sound like the frame is too far up above the front grill to be used for such

Isn’t that the guy that got stuck in some mud 3 days after getting his ‘22? I believe when he got pulled out they tried to attach to front but that was a no go.

Well in the case of my 21, its 2 of the 3 they chose to troll about. Luckily the grab handle was an easy fix and I am working on the cooler soon.

Absolute fail, there is no justifiable reason to not include tow hooks. Passenger cars at least have the screw-in type.

I would be up in arms about this tow hook debacle.

I use mine all the time. Guess one could call me a super user…
