I recently contacted Magnuson about the 2021 Tundra TRD Pro supercharger and they told me they won't be offering it for ANY 21 FFV vehicles. Do you all have gas only Tundras? Here in Colorado I've never even seen a gasoline only Tundra!

Well I got screwed there! Magnuson offered superchargers for both for many years, but apparently not the 2021. Never thought this would be my problem! lol

I was watching some of their stuff today, to be honest don't know much about them. I've been working on Toyotas and installing Magunson superchargers starting in 1998 and they are awesome and so reliable. They add 3 yr 30k mile warranty regardless of the mileage of your truck which to me says a lot about their product. Plus they used to work side by side with TRD.
I'm super sad now that I finally have the truck I want!

I’m sold on them. Had one in an FJ, Tundra, and Taco and looking to add to my new Tundra soon. I was just curious if they were more flexible regarding motor options.

I'll look into it for sure! How was reliability with their stuff, and how hard was it to get it dialed in? Reliability is my only concern but again I only know Magnuson so I'm open to anything. They seem to be a lot more expensive, but again I am open to suggestions.

I’ve seen nothing but great things and supposedly their technology is more efficient.

Wouldn’t the reliability be similar since both Mag and Harrop use Eaton TVS blowers?

Whatever this forum told me to do
    I would imagine so.

    they are the same.

I will say Harrop uses the 2650 & Mag uses the 1900.

Harrop turns less to provide the same psi. cooler air charge.

    both are EXCELLENT units.

and....it's the tune that matters. concentrate on that, as the blower units are the least of your worries.

I am well aware that the tune is the thing that matters. I can't find any shop around me that has tuned a Tundra before. I am considering remote tuning when I SC.

Well Magnuson made the decision for me, wasn't too impressed with their willingness to give a reason or returns emails. Harrop got back to me in about 12 hours and seemed pretty excited to help out!
thanks for all the information, will keep you posted as the build takes place.

My V-8 already has more HP than the Bell Jet Ranger I was life-flighted in last year. 331 shaft HP on Bell vs. 381 HP on my 5.7 Toyota. Don't need it unless I get a tornado in my rear-view mirror or deliver transplant organs cross-country.

    there's that word "need".

    that's a communist type word.

Anyone have an idea how much horsepower the stock 5.7 block can handle?

The ONLY thing I don't like about the Harrop is they don't offer the warranty that Magnuson does.

Harrop told me the FFV issue is not an issue

I think the go to number is ~550 hp. I don’t see why the FFV would be an issue as doesn’t it already come with bigger injectors and a beefier fuel pump?

My tuner has an '09 w/magnuson doing ~580hp with 150k miles.

the short answer is 600 crank HP is the reasonable limit.

maturity factors come in after that. will you drive it like you stole it?

I love mine. Stage 2 ~575hp. bone stock other than the blower & injectors

Magnuson says its the tuning that is different, but Harrop say differently. They are telling me that everything has to be cleared of Ethynol and the engine reset, or something like that. lol Harrop says that can easily be done, and they've had no problems boosting the FFV.

Maybe Magnuson is just making excuses as to why they aren't offering it, or won't work around it.

I think if you put the Harrop on - you will tune it for 93 octane gas. you will not be able to run meth anymore.
