You will be good to go I'm thinking:thumbsup: I'm starting on Orgovyx today. One pill daily instead of the quite painful Firmagon stomach injection every month which is done at the doctor's office. No copay taking a pill..

Glad to hear that you found a better facility, Matt. No reason anyone should have to put up with that kind of garbage.

Your numbers lookin' good, too.

FYI......as I mentioned earlier, I started Orgovyx today. "Relugolix" . Quite expensive and quite new. My insurance which is great, denied paying for it. I was able to get copay assistance from Myovant/Phizer. So far 0$ out of pocket. The included brochure had the clinical trial results. Quite promising actually! I'm considered "recurrent" category. Could be much worse. 120mg pill. Three today and one a day from here on out. Thought I'd mention this new prostate cancer fighting drug.
Note.....Orgovyx is only provided by a specialty pharmacy. Quite pricey.

    Hi Matt
Had my prostate removed 2 years ago, cancerous tumor inside, psa went up from 4.0 to 5 something, biopsy positive, take it out, cancer start to get in the semial vessel took them out also.
38 rad treatments been undetectable since.
I tell everyone get tested and go to your doctor every six months no matter your age.
    Shits no fun.
By the way I was 64 when I first was diagnosed.
Hang in there my Brother Matt.

I'm in such a great mood now. I've been stressing a bit the last several months waiting to see if my treatment is working.

Man Matt, so glad to hear this news brother! It’s amazing that after a horrible day at work I see your amazing news and it puts a smile on my face and I forget all about my shitty day! It amazes me that a stranger I never met that I have been corresponding with for a few years on this forum can bring such a positive reaction! Thank You Matt!!

Good news Matt, glad to hear.

I had a TURP in Oct 2020 where the doctor removed about half my Prostrate per his post op discussion. I went in for my one year follow up and the doc moved on so I just saw the nurse practitioner. They did a PSA test and it is at 0.5. Which is good.

In my case I could not empty my bladder and was holding 1.5 liters of pea. (That was a minimum reading). There was a sample analysis of the prostrate tissue removes and no cancer. My PSA read ok pre TURP but I definitely had problems.

( its good to get checked out guys..)

Just saw my oncologist. Going off Orgovyx. Doc said it was overkill. Staying on Zytiga/Prednisone and will go back on Lupron every six months. This morning's bloodwork >>>>>PSA 0.20 ng/ml....

My new oncologist is very good. He's not a surgeon. He specializes in after the "robotic" issues when cancer comes back. Three folks sat in on my session today. Total teamwork. My oncologist explained the side affects of the meds in great detail. My urologist never really did. One side effect is mood swings. Can make you irritable at times. Especially in combo with ALCOHOL on an empty stomach. I'm going with that excuse that caused me to get a 30 day vacation here one time. That is my excuse now and I'm sticking with it......

Great news, Matt. Hang tough, brother. Really good of the company to step up like that when insurance won't.

Edit ..... Well, shit! Somehow missed this for almost a month, so here I"m saying good of the company to step up (Orgovyx) and you're not even on it anymore. :D
Oh well, good of them anyway. And good numbers you're showing now.

Thanks Mike! Orgovyx was too hard on me. Something wasn't right. I'd get up in the morning and could hardly stand up. Was hard to even put my socks on. This only happened after going on Orgovyx. Orgovyx is good if the cancer has metastasized beyond the pelvic area to other parts of your body. It really kicked my ass. Glad I switched to UCHealth!

Thankfully I don't. Doesn't sound kind a pleasant experience at all. Hopefully someone can chime in that has had a similar experience.

Definitely does NOT sound awesome. In many ways I'm somewhat glad that I can't help with this. Definitely a game changer Chris. Sorry you have to go thru that.

Sorry to hear about the final verdict. I worked with a guy 49 years ago who had a bag but it did not keep him down. I believe his injury was from the Vietnam War era of injuries. Good luck.

Saw my oncologist Tuesday. Testosterone now less than 7. Good. (actually sucks big time). Expensive pills doing their job. The bad. PSA went back up to 0.41
Could be an anomaly. If my next bloodwork indicates the same or higher, it means the cancer is building a resistance to the drugs. Wait and see. Going back on Lupron and Prolia. More scans coming up it seems. My oncologist did show me the color 3D Acumen PET scan results. Quite kuul actually. The problem area is in one lower vertebra. There's cancer nesting there biding its time. Had to hit the dentist this morning. Once back on Prolia......no dental work. Fun times.
