Couldn’t find this on my search so I’ll ask it.

I have a 2017 tundra trd pro with the coachbuilder kit installed including 1 1/4 bora wheel spacers and nitto 295/70/18s. I want to go with a different wheel setup and lose the spacers and apparently I’m confused about offset. After talking with the wheel guy at 4W parts I ordered a set of fuels with a -12 offset. WILL THESE WORK WITH MY SETUP? The Ekstrom website says to go with a positive offset +25 etc. but I need to push the wheel out to to remove the spacers and clear the suspension parts don’t I? A little confused. Thanks for any input.

Stock offset is usually +60, but will depend on what OEM package you have. So +25 pushes your wheel out 35mm vs stock. That’s usually the sweet spot for most setups. Return the -12 if you can, unless you want a ton of poke… those will be well outside your fenders.

Thank you. I’m looking for a little poke (an inch or two) but not a lot of poke. About the same as I have now with 1 1/4 bora spacers on stock trd rims but I want to make sure I have no issues with the coachbuilder suspension kit. So it sounds like the -12s might push me out too far? I mainly want to lose the spacers. I’ve been looking at wheel setups online and the -12s didn’t look too crazy but I am clearly missing something.

I borrowed someone’s pic but this is apparently a -12 offset. I don’t want any more poke than this.

    Too many, but not enough....
That picture looks like pretty much half the tires will be exposed. If your wanting a little poke, I would consider that too much, but up to you. You usually get "a little" poke with around +25 offset.

The other thing you have to worry about is rubbing - the further you push the wheel out from the hub, the more contact you're going to make with the bumper and the body mount. -12 and 295s will have you cutting a lot more than just plastics. I'm running 295s with +18mm offset and I'm barely clearing the body mount. An alignment can push the wheel forward with caster, but you only have so much movement with stock UCAs. And then you still have to worry about the bumper.

Thanks. Bumper is not an issue cause I went with a high clearance bumper but something else may be. Here is my setup currently with spacers.

Yes agreed. Half the tire is way too much poke for me anyways.

Give my stance similar to TRDf with +25 offset, same Falkens set-up, Toytec aluma Coilovers lift.. Good luck.

On the coachbuider site it states the following for my 2021 TRD Pro:

    ** Requires +30 mm / +25 mm / +20mm / +18 mm offsets if using 18" wheels or a 1.25" wheel spacer if using OE Wheels

    Camber +.2 Degrees Per Side.

    Caster +2.2 - +2.5 Degrees Per Side.

Toe +.07 - +.10 Degrees Per Side, Not to Exceed +.20 Combine.

    Recommended Tire Size ( 295/70/18" Measures 34.6" x 11.7" )

This is the alignment specs straight from the manufacturer on the Coachbuilder TRD Pro Kit. You shouldn’t need spacers for anything. Unless I’m confused on how it works. I’m looking to get this same kit early next year. I’m interested to see how this turns out.

Thanks all for all the input. I talked to David yesterday at coachbuilder and he really did a great job explaining things to me. Great guy by the way. You can use a negative offset with this setup but it might be a little aggressive for some as others have stated. Also It could affect other things such as turning radius etc. I decided to send my -12s back and get a +1 offset which was the next size available. Each 25mm gives you 1 inch of movement so if my math is correct the tire will poke out about an inch and a half which isn’t too crazy.
