Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

By the way, we went to Knox Whiskey Works recently here in Knoxville, TN for a tasting. I thought their whiskey was above average. Just a small little distillery but it was good. They also make some gin and vodkas also. Their bourbon cream was pretty dang good! I am by no means an expert, but I thought it was really good!

had this last year too and I've never seen it in stores. Nice find! If i'm reading right, it says 49.3%??? I swear the one I had was like 135proof, unless I'm thinking of another bottle.

 

Was able to find a pic of last year's (bottle is long gone...) Same proof. Not sure what High West might have that is higher.

I’m always excited to find EH Taylor on the shelf at retail. This was even better since my wife got it for me.

I have tried EHT twice, home and at the distillery and I just can't say I like it. It was very "plain" for me. Don't taze me bro!

 

Haha. Everyone has their own preferences. Please feel free to ship something my way that you find not so “plain”. lol

I still like EH Taylor and I like the history behind the brand as well.

 

I’d really like to try some Horse Soldier bourbon. Check the story behind those dudes.

Nice find on the Weller 12! I have been on the hunt for Weller 12 for a while now.

 

Me too. I only got it cuz I paid to be in a quarterly club at one of the better stores here in town. $80 but now I go to the back of the line for premium allocated bottles.

 

This got me thinking, are any of you part of a club at your local liquor store that is doing a good job of allocating bottles and if so, how does it work? My local store does a combination of points drawings, lottery, and allocations to the top members. The club has grown a lot over the last few years. I used to get great bottles consistently and now very rarely.

A friend of mine gave me these as an early Christmas present, trying the Widow Jane tonight, it's a little harsh neat, had to add some cubes to make it better.

I got a call for two new bottles that came in today. I got the Heavens Hill (The Bootleg Series by Bob Dylan) & Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel (Coy Hill).



My wife definitely got my an awesome birthday gift to add to my collection! So excited to get this bad boy mounted! It smells like pappy too! This is an autographed barrel lid from a pappy 20 year barrel.

 

Anxious to get your thoughts on the Coy Hill.

 

We ended up buying in weatherford but we still gotta have a few when our place is done being built

 

Love Woodford so I decided to take a chance on the Malt Whiskey, similar overall but this has a hot, peppery spice to it.
