This is all I have leftover; my stuff from the days are long gone. (The box came out of my 2 door 2013 Golf TDI). I'll do something with some of it at some point -

The old Bazooka tube. Had an 8" passive that I swapped a Kicker Comp into. Had a 10" powered in a regular cab Chevy. Decent for the money.

If you were anywhere near here, I'd probably buy your old stocks off you, just because I'll need new tires in the next 10-15k miles and it's an easy upgrade.

But can't help with the other stuff. I'm just not quite there yet.

Ah, the good 'ol Carolina Squat rears its ugly head again. I can't help but think some drunk dudes were sitting around after upgrading a buddy's front suspension being, like, "HEY MAN, LET'S TURN THIS INTO A REAL-LIFE MEME!" and thus the c-squat was born. "We're gonna make this a trend, low in the rear and high in the front, just like them kids in the city like to do with their pants and reefer!

But seriously, what's your plan for the rear?

Ah. Who knew there were so many VW / former VW folks on here? :D

I finally broke down and sold off a lot of my older stuff recently to another forum member who likes pics. Like, a lot. I was sad to see it go, and sold for less than I thought it worth, but I'm happy to know it's in a good home. While I too think "those years are past", I'm semi-eager to finally, finally finish my damn install so I have an amp and some low-end in my truck again.

You know, I'm one of those guys who typically doesn't like authority stepping in and regulating anything, but this is one of those times when I'm, like, IDGAF, DO IT!

I think the c-squat shit is stupid as hell, dangerous, and feel the same way about it as I do the fellas who want to roll down the strip throwing switches on hydraulics. You're driving a damn thousands-of-pounds projectile, why in the hell do you want to do it in a way that impairs your ability to react? Boo.

The ability to separate free expression from responsibility these days kills me, doesn't matter where you're at on the spectrum. Sad people can't smell their own excrement anymore.

Agree with all this. Not a fan at all of the squat. It doesn't make sense. I was upset that I was down .5" after install my front suspension upgrades. Needed to fix that quickly.

Obviously the wrong size rim/tire combo. But this would have looked good. Sad days.

A truck with a 12" lift on 44"+ tires is equally dangerous on the roads for other cars. All of the extreme ends of vehicle mods tend to run towards being too dangerous for normal street use. Too tall, too slammed, to wide, etc. Not sure how any of it stays legal.

Do this: Stop at the "i"

Like ... Type @shi and stop. You should see a dropdown appear, inside which you can click the dropdown to select the name. At least this should happen on desktop, not sure about mobile.

The forum has this little auto-complete feature. As long as the first couple characters match, it doesn't care.

I'll go play in the practice area, the drop downs don't seem to be happening on the laptop, just phone. I changed auto correct in my settings. Maybe I can figure this out.

I was thinking it would be a good thread; What threads make you angry? Then I realized it was a dark rabbit hole that would likely get us violating the COC and being jerks in general. It's a terrible idea.

I've got a Smittybilt X2O 10K Synthetic winch. Word of warning with our bumpers, You will pretty much be forced to remote mount the solenoid onto the bumper and cut a slot for the wires/holes for the solenoid mounting hardware. My solenoid contacts the front of the grille. You need to get your solenoid as far forward as possible if you mount it on the top of the bumper as I did. I mounted my solenoid using stainless pan head Phillips machine screws from the underside of the bumper, which makes it a pain to mount/remove, so do it once and do it right.

Make sure you clock your winch clutch to be to the rear as well, as it won't fit vertically, and it will foul against the inside of the front bumper too if clocked in a forwards position (fouls as pictured below).
Don't do any of this. I butchered my bumper so badly. I'm having to pay to have it fixed now.[IMG]

@FrenchToasty my wife keeps trying to get me to bring our Blackstone when we go camping but we're usually out of space for something that big. And the weight...Do you pack your full-size propane tank?

That wasn’t mine, but yes they brought a full size pro bottle, all in a 4runner.
Recently I saw a smaller tank at/on rei that is the equivalent to 4-5 green tanks, but it’s refillable and a lot smaller than the regular bbq tanks

I made mushrooms, and the steaks are a local delicacy; they are actually trade marked or patented by the butcher shop that makes them
“Uglie steaks” I believe they are tenderized and brined flap steaks, but they are super good!

My use of, "...testing the concrete in my garage floor..." is hyperbole.

Since it's your business, I confirmed the thickness of my floor before installing the lift. The minimum for the lift, as spec'd by its manufacturer, is 4" of 3500psi concrete.
My floor is not less than 5" thick anywhere. As such, it should be plenty sufficient for my 6000lb lift to lift one end of a 4000lb truck or all of a 2200lb car. It certainly never wavered all of last winter with my car on it at max height and me climbing all over it.

The lift arms lock in place just like the lifts here at work.
As such, when I work on the truck, I place the lift pads on the frame in places that have naturally occurring stops...like next to the trans cross-member. This prevents the truck from sliding on the lift.

If the floor fails, which it won't, there is no wheel chock in the world that's going to prevent a 4000+lb truck from moving. It's not going to slow it down. It's going to do nothing at all. Any notion otherwise is pure fantasy.
Putting the truck in 4wd and then park would net the same result, but you didn't think to ask if I'd done that similarly useless task.
Rolling the dismounted wheels under the vehicle would slow the vehicle's descent or buy me some space in the unlikely event aliens were to descend from the heavens and shoot my garage floor with some sort of matter-dissolving ray gun. By no coincidence, I usually do just that to keep them out of my way in my cramped workspace. Maybe I'm not so fucking stupid.

If it wasn't safe, I wouldn't do it. I have access to full-height lifts. Dying under a fallen vehicle is right above being burned alive and buried alive on the list of ways I do not want to die. (That's the bottom of said list since everyone in here takes everything super literally.)

Your note about not wanting to 'know another' is moot because it's clear you don't know me at all.
