Let me know if this is the wrong place for this. If so, I’ll edit and let this thread die. Otherwise:

    2021 Platinum Wind Chill Pearl

I bought this truck w some dealer options that I don’t love but I could not find another Platinum near me. I tried to ship a TRD from a Dallas dealer who tried to put +20K on MSRP. Called everywhere. No dice. Dealer wouldn’t budge on the installed options so I took it as-is. Truck was a demo for the GM for 2 weeks, had 200 miles on it so the accessories couldn’t be taken off and sold new. Oh well.

On it when I bought it:
    1. TRD exhaust - chrome tips
    2. 2/3” level
    3. OEM chrome tube steps (will sell as take off)
    4. Console safe
    5. Rail cleats
    6. Cheapo tonneau
    7. Toyota all weather mats (these suck)

I’m a brand newbie. Starting easy:

Interior LEDs - installed. All bulbs work and this took 20 mins.

BRISHINE White LED Interior Light... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088QJMC7X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Ordered VLED puddles.

Added a little extra on the dash with this thing. For $12 I think it does the job. I toss my key up there in the field.

    JOJOMARK Compatible with Toyota... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0829RH26Z?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

About to install underseat storage. It’s sunny but cold this afternoon. Good project time.

I got the OEM painted flares put on Tuesday. The wheels / tires look dumb. Also, truck is filthy.

Heading outside to do start this job. Hopefully it goes smoothly.

Underseat storage - planning one for tie downs, one for my golf shoes. Third bin open, currently.

Nice looking rig! Love the color…can’t wait to see what else you do with it. Good luck on the under seat storage.

Got diverted by kid wanting to put up Christmas tree. A pair of new kittens in the house made that fun.

ESP box was pretty easy to put in. I have the advantage of only being 5’4”, so I can nearly stand up in the back. The foam was harder to cut than it looked like it should be so I switched from a linoleum knife to a serrated blade.

Everything worked out great. I didn’t cut the harness for the push button start and the box fit nice and snug. I’m debating putting some glue or melting the edges of the carpet scraps to make them look more finished but for now, perfect.

I did end up separating the carpet from the pad and putting the pad back under the boxes for noise reduction. If I notice a difference I might do something more.

I did add a few pieces of cork just to reduce potential noise. I have a bunch laying around from a delivery of glass for a handrail we got some time back.

Project difficulty 2/10, only based on looking out for that harness.

    On order:

    1. Cab Spoiler
    2. Valhalla skids - cat protection plates
    3. VLED puddle lights
    4. Blackout badging - 4x4 and inlay for Tundra on tailgate
    5. Drop in grid organizer for console. I intend to modify this to fit with the console safe. It looks like I can cut it down.
    6. Husky liners - the Toyota ones suck
    Actively researching:
    1. Tint shops
    2. Tires and wheels
    3. Steps. I’d prefer a drop down but need anti-slip and it needs to rinse out well.
    4. Ditch lights
    5. Think… about black handles and mirror caps. We will see after 1-3 are done if I think it needs it.
After the above, I’ll probably be done for a while. I’ll be out of money.

Check out Gator liners, made by Husky but costs less.
Really happy with mine, they even got shipped in a Husky box.

Interested in what you find for tint shops down there, shops up my way don't have the best reputation.

Not a super exciting item but a very quick and easy project:

I purchase this console divider and modified it to fit around the Toyota console safe.
Vehicle OCD - Center Console... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SSKUHAC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Measured after squaring the cross piece to the back. Found I needed to cut these exactly in 1/2.

Scored with a utility knife and ruler:

Snapped them in 1/2, using the edge of my kitchen counter. As I only needed 1/2 of the material I thought to try this method first rather than a dremmel.

Smoothed the snapped edges with a lighter and a block of wood.

    perfect fit.

Ordered wheels and tires today, praying it all fits. I'm pretty certain I'll lose the air dam.

    285/65/r20 20x9 +18

Motiv Balast in gloss black w/ Cooper ATIII
    https://www.motivwheels.com/wheels/428/

    Cooper Discoverer AT3
    https://coopertire.com/en-us/find-tires/all-tires/discoverer-at3-xlt

I looked at so many wheels it made me dizzy. In the end it came down to the fact that I'm not a fan of the fake beadlocks + availability. I was looking at Nittos and Toyos but couldn't find the size I needed in stock before February (or April!). I liked some BR wheels but the bore / lug patters + offsets weren't where I needed them and the cost / time to do modifications just wasn't worth it.

~12 days or so. Product will be here sooner but I have conflicts to get into the shop.

    Updated build list:

    On order:
    1. Wheels & Tires
    2. Cab Spoiler
    3. Valhalla skids - cat protection plates
    4. VLED puddle lights - backordered
    5. Blackout badging - 4x4 and inlay for Tundra on tailgate - received, will install when the weather warms up. It's too cold for the 3M adhesive right now.
    6. Drop-in grid organizer for console. I intend to modify this to fit with the console safe. It looks like I can cut it down. - Complete
    7. Husky liners - the Toyota ones suck - Complete
    Actively shopping for:
    1. Tint shops - I got a recommendation, going to call next week.
    2. Nerf tubes / steps. I’d prefer a drop-down but need anti-slip and it needs to rinse out well.
    Longer-term to-do list (summer):
    1. Ditch lights - read up on wiring, looks like a project I can handle. Waiting until Spring because my hands will freeze doing it this time of year.
    2. Black handles
    3. Black Mirror caps
    4. Black exhaust tips
    5. Tail lights / brake light - smoke?
    6. My teen boys think I need a light bar. I think that would be over the top. I will 100% use the ditch lights for work but I don't need to flood over the top / front.
After the above, I’ll probably be done for a while. I’ll be out of money.

Wheels and tires came in, mounted today:

I went with 285/60/r20 at +18 with the Cooper At3.

I’m pretty happy with the look. I had to take off the air dams and will need to bend back some plastic w a heat gun but it’s too rainy tonight. The only rub I’m getting is full turn in reverse and it’s minimal.

    Wheels are Motiv.

I thought about a more aggressive offset but this is a working truck, not a freeway and side street toy. I need the fender completely over the rubber to save my paint job. I’m off-road on dirt and sand most of my day at the ranch.

If anyone is in E Wa or SWW / Portland metro (will be there Monday) my 20” Platinum take-offs are for sale, with sensors. ~ 3K miles on them.

My SportWing came today as well but I haven’t opened the box. I’m afraid it’s too cold for the adhesive to work well so I’m probably looking at 6-10 weeks before we get a 70 degree day again. It’ll be 2 degrees next week.

    A productive week this week!

Yesterday I had the glass tinted to 20%.

Today I installed Valhalla cat plates, led puddle lights, and some blackout badging on the tail.

Definitely hoping for continued good weather.

You will like the Coopers much better than the stock Michelin. I have them in the stock 18” size

I’ve got about ~3K miles on them and so far so good. They did great is snow and slush on both dirt and primitive roads. I like the tread width better than the KO2s which I had on my Xterra. Those picked up everything - rocks, bolts, you name it. I had 4 bolts / screws in one summer. Fortunately my job pays for tires so it wasn’t a huge deal for me to have to replace them.

These tires are blooming more than I like so I’m going to have to condition them. I picked the wheels to be easy to rinse out. Im on dirt ~5% of my miles but 50% of my hours.

I have the old set for sale but not enough posts to put them in BST. I’m going to have to participate a bit more to get them listed.

I finally got around to installing the spoiler. We had an unusually cold and wet spring, then it heated up quickly. Family life prevented me from having opportunities when the weather was right.

I got up early this morning and instead of my normal piddling around / coffee routine I got to work on this project.

Start to finish ~ 60 mins.
