I would like to put 34's on the 18" rims that i'm getting on my 22 SR5 TRD Off Road Premium. Do you think that is possible without lift or body modification?

Not digging the muffler location. IMO one shouldn't see a trucks muffler in a side view like on the configurator. Hell, it's right in the middle of the breakover angle! Sweers, you dumdum.

Do you really need a muffler?

Hopefully a 35" spare will fit in the stock location.

So first impression is seat is not the most comfortable and at 75MPH on highway your getting below average MPG. Can't wait for more from these guys, they are usually pretty spot on, good bad or ugly.

Yep, and I do not expect it to get much better after "break-in".

Also.... Payload sticker on that Limited with only 5.5 bed was 1,400 even. That truck is still missing features as well as a bed cover and steps that most people put on. That was disappointing.

Lots of good video will be out soon. Personally 18.6mpg at 75! Mph sounds awesome. I would like to see what guys get on long highway drives at 60-65 mph which is what I actual drive on the highways around here. Heck at 75 my Tacoma gets under 16mpg and the tundra is twice as capable.

it depends if the 20’s weigh more than the 18 plus if it has a wider face plant can also return poorer fuel economy (rolling resistance)

I averaged 18 mpg on the highway with a Ram 2500 w 6.4 Hemi...so it't not that big of a feat. I would have expected close to 20 or more on a highway trip, but I am sure it will vary with the driver and wind and elevation etc. People complain about the Tacoma MPG's but I never see under 20 on mine and see 22-24 on a trip like described on the TFL video so some of it is driver dependent.

My 2007 RCSB 2wd (I have 22in wheels) gets 16 - 17 mpg on long road trips and I drive above the speed limit always. Hopefully the Hybrid version will get better mileage.

Hopefully, we get better results (MPG, etc.) after the break-in - when the truck "learns how you drive" or something like that n stuff

I’m betting that fuel economy for the first couple tanks with turbos suffers the same way it does with a new exhaust. Lots of on and off throttle just for smiles.

Or it could just be how the lead footed TFL guys drive. How does their mileage with other trucks compare to the EPA ratings?

Break in, EPA testing is 55-65mph i believe so 75mph is considerably higher. Hell our speed limit out west is 80 on all the major highways.

On the videos I have watched that they are doing a MPG run, they have been very close to the EPA or even exceeded it.

Only time I ever see over 20 mpg in my Tacoma is driving under 60. And I stare at my real time mileage a lot lol. If they say the truck can get 22 on the highway I believe them and I have no doubt I can get better then that in my real world driving as I drive 55 a lot. All though some times it will and sometimes it won’t. Being brand new off the lot I would assume it will not.

Yeah cruising at 85 MPH will murder your mileage in a truck. That’s a lot of air to displace.

The only car I’ve driven to achieve EPA fuel economy on the highway at that cruising speed is my 2015 Chevrolet SS. For some reason it’s only rated for 21 MPG highway, which it will do…. at a solid 90 MPH cruise speed. It’s like GM and the EPA just looked at the weirdo Australian RWD 4 door sedan with a 6.2L LS3 V8 and said “fuck it” and just assigned it a horrendous number and moved on. LOL.

And if he was driving like your supposed to during break in he wouldn’t have been using cruise control and would have been doing a lot of speed changing.

I'm most shocked about the $64 OTD price that TFL paid for not even the fully loaded Limited. Fully loaded it's probably closer to $70k OTD. The price coupled with the minimal mpg increase forces me to ditch my Tundra and go back to a Taco. It just doesn't make sense to drive a half ton in the city, hardly ever tow anything, not fit in parking spots and pay $300/month for fuel. Driving a full size was nice while it lasted.

It was really $57+ and that was Colorado tax. Doubt that’s the same for all of us. Would be closer to $60 OTD herr in TN.

Yeah Colorado evidently has high sales tax and tag fees.

In South Dakota we have a statewide 4% sales tax cap on vehicles. So here that truck would be $59,280 with taxes (assuming a $57,000 price with no trade in). Probably another $100 to get tags for the year.
