Let's see a pic of your truck with them, if you have one.

This was the day I bought it, with the Cooper Discoverer S/T. You can also see all of the upgrades I've done ;)

Now your making me think about getting them again. I have shocks coming from Eibach and plan to do tires at the same time.

I wonder if the issue is longevity. Maybe they don't last as long on a Tundra because of the weight difference between it and a Jeep?

Tire question: Lots of you seem to reference Discount Tires. I’ve used Les Schwab the last 15 years and been happy. They seem to be everywhere I travel but they don’t carry as many brands as DT. Just curious if there is something with DT beyond the selection I should consider when I start looking at new tires?

The set that I had developed vibration when there was plenty of tread left. However, they always performed great.

That's great to know! Thanks Man! I'll keep a watch for that. Like I said, I've only had them about a month and a half, but will watch for vibration issues.

I'm medically retired from the Army, so I've always got tires from the PX on base. I've never used DT. Hopefully one of the other guys on here can advise you.

I have always liked DT customer service. They go above and beyond, and they will price match. My wife's car had a screw we were afraid to remove, and they did that for free. We hadn't bought tires for her car, just my truck and they still took care of it. You can also book appointments online which is nice, in and out of there quick for rotations and such. The one I go to has a lot of Toyotas in the parking lot so that doesn't hurt either!

I can’t say specifically for the Tundra, but every set I’ve ever seen on any rig seems to be nearly worn out. So I have this preconceived notion they don’t last long.

I’ve had nothing but bad service and poor quality from the Schwab stores around me. I’ll let them repack my trailer bearings but that is about it. Their counter people are always nice, but I’ve had issues with anything they have installed for me and their tire prices are insane.

DT on the other hand takes care of their customers. I’ve used the one by me for 30 years (dang I’m old). Plus their prices are always competitive.

I have noticed the tread isn't as deep as I'm accustomed to in the Nitto Trail Grapplers. If these don't last, I'll definitely be switching back to Nitto

I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm planning on installing my new front camera (replacing the current one that shows upside down), and installing my push button switches for my outside bumper lights. I have the inner ones wired to the factory fog light stalk, so don't need a switch for those.

Yeah, I'll never go back to LS. They take advantage of their name and jack prices up knowing a lot of people go there just because they always have. Their tire prices are not competitive when I last looked.
Not to mention the half-assed attention to detail, leaving shock bolts or lug nuts hand tight and sending people on their way. I'm not bitter at all!
I'm very happy with DT. After all the years of paying for their tire warranty, it paid off this year with 2 tires a month apart. Sidewall punctures on the Sequoia, they took care of me no questions asked.

What’s up guys! Been a while since I have been on. Have been busy with the remodel. Kinda wish I would have just freaking moved. Anyway just thought I would say Hi.

Back to tires. I ran Duratracks on my last 4Runner and loved them. Didn’t have it past 15k so can’t comment on longevity.
The wife’s 4runner has Good year…ahh I can’t remember. They are from DT. I usually am a big fan of DT but this last go round was annoying as can be. They couldn’t get the TPMS to work. To be honest it might still not. But at least the light isn’t on. I have a friend that’s a manager at LS but like mentioned they don’t sell wheels or tires I would run(usually).

@Green Thunder if you come down this way for Metal Tech or Iron Man let me know. Iron man is like 2 miles from the house. Can help get some of that stuff mounted.

LS used to be good. Then they sold. Same name, different ownership. They now suck. They used to get discounts from select brands. They no longer get them because of their business practice.

Which really sucks for us rural guys. Last purchase was through Tire pros. I was pleased with service and cost. They offered the same tires for $600 less than LS.

That is very generous and much appreciated! Not sure I’ll be doing any installs on the spot, but we shall see.

Sounds like we have a crew for a coffee meet at least.

LS is the king of small towns. I wanted to give them my business for just that reason but they didn’t earn it. Tragic

Fair enough. Maybe trade some of that chocolate for some bacon wrapped fillet mignon?

Unrelated did anybody do that open house at IM?
I was going to try and make it but my daughters game held us back.

I don't drink coffee, but if I could make it I would just show up to say hi.

Thanks! I stopped in every once in a while...but didn't post much. I had three full time jobs the last three months. Work,Kids and wife, making sure sub contractors were doing what they were supposed to. Number 3 was a mother F'er. We still aren't even done yet. Getting close though...:fingerscrossed:

Can't wait to see the Sequoia all rebuilt. I would definitely have to sell my Tundra now to afford that thing...but no car payment would be cool.

Edit: I love me some Methods and SCS. Don't think I would use anything else on a Toyota.

Edit: #2...we now have the same doors and window trim.

That'll be nice to get the house done, that's a ton of stress. Nice choice on the doors and trim!

That lease is coming to an end right? :boink::spending:

Can't wait to get going on it, probably late Jan after things slow down and I have some time off work. Couldn't agree with ya more on wheels, my first choice was SCS but those have been hard to come by for a year or more.

150k on the clock, stock besides the 4R wheels.

I really like the look of my 701s. I wish the bronze was a darker shade but they’ve grown on me. Especially since after I swapped the grills out.
I have body color smart key handles and Pro LED headlamps in route to get rid of the last of the chrome. I’m still debating on blacking out the Platinum badge but most likely.

I’ve let this dang site cost me more $$$$ than I’d ever be willing to admit.:annoyed::bananadead::bananadance:

edit: Finally got the canopy a little over a week ago. I’ll snap some more photos this weekend but I’m glad to finally have it.CB268AFF-3613-446E-ACC7-92BF0E4C6A44.jpgADF61EA5-DCD7-4B79-8646-BD11920534AA.jpg

    I have 6 payments left.
Started looking at options. I was hoping I would be at the other garage that’s closer to my house. Not looking like that will happen.
How the next few months play out will probably dictate what I do. Then what’s available in the market will be the second factor.
I have been watching SCS drops on IG for the last 6 months or so. Waiting for the next Tundra wheel.

You and everyone else here.
I'm not going to bother adding up what this Sequoia build will cost me. Paid $12k cash in 2016 with 90k miles on it, it deserves the spending spree.

    Wow what a steal.

If/when the time comes that my wife wants a larger vehicle we will probably go the Sequoia route. She really likes her CX-9 though and it is a great family vehicle.
