Got my Red Cat Covers just now Tyler and looks great. I think the 3/16 aluminum was a good choice as very solid while still light weight and packaged well so thanks again and hopefully my mechanic can put them on as easily as I told him they should go on!! I will send pics once finished next week…

 

Oh I know, no complaint here. I just know I slid in at the end of that batch, lol. Really need them on by the week before Christmas if it can happen.

Front and Rear Cat Shields/Slid Plates installed. 3/16" steel powder coated. Pentagon bolts to secure the shields. Regretting not getting the engine shield as well.

It takes a little while to get them in your hand, but overall a Great Product!!

 

Ok, I just finished making one of the TRD PRO plate nut plates, how does $40 sound plus $15 to ship it. This will make installing these a breeze. It will require disassembling the factory bolts (there are these little things on the bolts to hold them up there) and replacing the bolts with the new ones, but you would only need to install the new bolts with the nut plate I am making loosely, slide my front cat plate in and tighten it up without having to stuff your hand in there.

 

It sounds a little steep for some bar stock and nuts but I don't have a welder so I'm in. Where do I sign up? My plates are getting here Monday. Pretty excited.

Also, I am only making this out of steel, it will come bare steel

 

Hey Tyler, I assume you don’t need these for your Pro if your mechanic had no issues with the factory bolts? The factory ones just screw in don’t know the purpose for these.

 

Awesome. As soon as the logistics are figured out I would love to place an order for one. My plates already shipped and will be here Monday but no biggie to pay the shipping for the nut bracket.

 

You don't need them but they will make installation and accessibility for maintenance later on much more convenient. Everyone has said getting those rear two bolts tightened is a nightmare.

So, I think I am going to add a temporary option to buy just this on my website, but for the future, I will be adding this as an option for the front cat plate, I think this makes the most sense

Will the nut plate work on the Valhalla’s front skid plate or just the TRD Pro ?

What about the rci skid? Will it help with it? I read it was hard to tighten too.

Every time I’m about order, something else comes up. I’m close though. It’s a lot cheaper than replacing cats.
