Neither am I honestly. If I'm going to go fast I prefer a seatbelt and a roof. I loved my motorcycle... under 60 MPH and on straight roads. I'm only getting another one as a personal challenge to overcome something that scared me.

I'm really just arguing to argue.

I like to play devil's advocate. It helps me to understand things better if I can try and come at it from all sides.... and man I would love to apply that method to understanding women better.

 

And after multiple derails, back on track!

I'm not big on hatchbacks. If I'm going to get a car I am solely going for fun, and I think a coupe or sedan look better than almost any hatch. I'm 100% aware of the utility of the hatch, and I don't begrudge anyone wanting it, but personally if I need utility then a sporty fun car isn't even on the list. I'd rather have a compact SUV or even *gasp* the new Ford Maverick. Sue me. I like that little truck and think it fills a hole in the market. If Toyota or Honda came out with a compact truck with similar specs, styling, and price point I would totally be down to have it as a commuter/all rounder secondary vehicle. My sole hesitation with it is the quality concerns with the big 3. Just my 2 cents, but if I need the utility of a hatchback then I need a little unibody SUV/crossover or whatever the term is these days. You want a fun ride? Then you get a coupe or a sedan, because everybody knows that the spoiler on the trunk makes it faster!

 

I was in Colorado one time, riding with a guy from Jersey and he was amazed that he wasn't getting cut off every 3 seconds.

 

Except the only times I've driven in Texas, I was on a business trip. Really wouldn't enjoy explaining to my boss why I got a speeding ticket while on company business for a company that's all about safety.

 

This week is the "sad Friday" at work for all the salary employees.

 

Nah. It's just that my days off don't start until Sunday afternoon. Damn 9-5, Mon-Fri slackers. 40 hours a week is a part time job.

 

And 8 hour shifts are for quitters!

Fourteen 10 hour days, then 7 off. I work out of town too, so I'm not home for the 2 weeks I'm working.

Not really. I hate being off on weekends when the crowds are out and 2 days is simply not enough time to do anything. There's no money in working 40 hours either. I have a base salary but OT is paid out hourly at double time.

 

That's why I'll be working 41 hours this week.

Pretty sure I'd die. I don't sleep well at home, let alone in a hotel or other such accommodation. Plus, 14 straight would wear me down I think. I could be wrong though. Around day 6 or 7 I'm pretty spent, but I did a 9 day stretch and it was like I got a second wind. Not sure it'd last through 14 days.

 

I rent an apartment in the town I work in, so that makes a big difference. I kind of have a home away from home. By day 11 or so, it starts to get a little old but it's not so bad. I mainly ride a desk these days, so the job isn't physically demanding. This is a pretty cushy gig compared to when I was welding. In those days, 10 - 12+ hour days with no days off for 30+ days in a row were typical. I'd be lucky to be able to take a week of vacation in a year or get a couple days off every couple months.

 

Well you've definitely moved up in the world then.
