    Not a bad idea!

I was looking for something that can go where that cup holder is and maybe do the same idea of mounting it at a 45

Mine sits flat on the spot and the cup holder remains usable

    Nice!

I was thinking of recess it at & that area where the cupholder is in your switch panel is on now and then like angle it up a little bit

Good luck, I am trying not to make holes or anything in case I die and my family wants to sell the truck. It works just fine upside down and flat. Wires are taped in a bundle right beside the right knee up against the plastic and under the steering wheel then through the firewall to the relays.

I do like that idea. I went with the Spod up high with the larger rocker switches because of me highway driving. When I’m driving to work early morning or evening, I use my LP9s. But with rolling hills and the possibility of an oncoming car, I have it set up that I can switch the lights off without me taking my eyes off the road. I don’t want to be blinding someone while I look for a small switch pro button or smaller toggle.

    Thanks!
I do like that area above but I may have a total of 7-8 switches. What model number did you go with? The Source?

Yes I went with the source. It has the Sox switches but you can always add another bank of them or the touch screen.

I get that. Sometimes I will run my auxillary lights also at like 3am on two lanes through bfe. I can just feel for the switches really ez with no need to take my eyes off the road either. In my case, it's the first three and my hand is usually on the shifter, so pretty convenient for me. Still have one bank empty for the future.

I know that this has been mentioned before, in other threads, but there is a guy on Facebook who 3D prints switch bus panels for the space below the HVAC controls (where the USB port, aux power ports, glass shatter sensor, etc, sit). I purchased one from him, sanded, painted and installed switches as well as the OEM USB port and glass shatter sensor. Once fully installed, it looks OEM and works flawlessly. The guy's name is "Corey George" and he has a video on Youtube showing how to install it. He can print it in several different configurations up to 7 switches (I chose 5 switches with two additional ports to accomodate the USB and glass breakage sensor). He can also print it to accomodate switches as well as the OEM aux power ports. I think I paid about $35.00 for the panel.

I’m not all that good with technology, but I’m not finding this guy’s Facebook page. Could you post a link to it? Thank you!

Hey everyone! I’ve been following this comment thread for a while trying to find something more reasonable for my truck too. I threw in the towel and bought a 3D printer and started my own design. For underneath the sunglasses I did a tweeter mount option and a switch option. Both the tweeter and the switch mount are the same shape just different on the inside so they both sit flush! Let me know what you think!

I use PETG. Warps at roughly 200 degrees Fahrenheit give or take a few degrees, plenty enough for inside a car

Wish that one worked with the 2020/21 usb ports. They’ve got a whole new shape to them

I don’t have a switch pro, but I did run 8 wires through the A-pillar and headliner. The headliner is away from the metal roof, there’s plenty of space to fish the wires through to the A-pillar and down through the side of the dash. 8C0B6EB8-9DA2-4A45-8578-1E20FB5E3983.jpg

I made the switch (no pun intended) from SP-9100 to the RCR Force-12 and struggled with where to put my switches. I already had it behind the shifter and in front of the center console. If I made that hole bigger to but the new switch panel in I believe it would make the part weaker and possibly crack when trying to remove or install it. Took a while but used the parts I had to build a spacer under it but I still had a section that was causing stress pulling the switch panel into the small hole kicking the opposite end up in the air. I had it rigged up for a while (almost a year) and had a piece I drew in CAD but never found anyone to print for Mr.

Big thank you to @angkorstrong for printing it for me (it is the lower piece that touches the mounting surface in the second pic). Much more comfortable to the feel. The 3D printed top piece is sold by SwitchPros and provides a “braille system” so you know what button you are pushing. No reason to look down if you have your setup memorized.
