I like most cuts, but my absolute favorite cut is a filet mignon. Cooked just right it melts like butter in your mouth and no fatty crap needed.

Well chit, I’ll need some good coffee to appease the wife if I do what I be thinking…they seem to have a strong reputation with the LC crowd. My buddy just got a set of their sliders and is very happy.

I was looking at their sliders closely and I heard from a local shop a couple months ago that Metal Tech is really good about keeping sliders in stock.

That place looks cool! Possible location for an OR and WA Tundra meetup?

My wife went to high school with the owner. I haven’t been out there since he finished the big bread oven, but the coffee roaster is pretty cool. Tomorrow my wife is going out there to have people taste test her latest sauerkraut creations for a farm-to-table thing she’s working on.

He’s out in the middle of nowhere up in the hills of east Clark County. I know he gets Tesla people come out for little meet-ups (he’s got two). Certainly could be possible…

I emailed them a few Q’s about their front bumper and at the end of their response they said “we also have sliders…”. I told them to get out of my head.

Count me in. I’m going to be down there in a few months to renew my good-guy-permit. Figure I should do some tax-free shopping while I’m there. Don’t know the date yet…think I need to wait for the income tax return…but I’m up for a beverage. Might even take @gosolo up on his offer for a tour of his shop.

    Speaking of mods…

Anyone seen any aluminum gas tank skids out there that uses the factory attachment points? I have found a couple but they all bolt to the frame. During slider install I found out how craptastic the plastic stock one is and hacked up the edge pretty good to clearance around the sliders.

Sheeeeeeet… ARB compressor and new tires for sure. Prob a stop at a ham store for a few things for my handheld.

Then it gets sketchy. Metal Tech is a ARB retailer, so I’m guessing some sliders get thrown in the back of the truck. Leaning towards Ironman front and rear bumpers… and since I’m there, fuck it and throw in a winch.

Then I go to Ray’s estate and regroup while finalizing my biker-gang-made-me-do-it story for the home CEO

Just have those sliders installed when you are there. Much harder for the wife to tell you to return them…;)

Awesome, looking forward to seeing the goods.
Decided on a tire yet? You were leaning towards 270/75's right?

Probably getting a 275/70. I have chains for that size already and it is not a huge weight increase. Plus if my math is right, my speedo will be dead-on accurate. Would love a 34”, but they get heavy…

Leaning towards a set of Cooper Rugged Treks, but we shall see what is in stock and available when the time comes. Many of the popular tires are on back order at DT

275/70 is what I meant.
I'm happy I went with that size. I've been keeping an eye on those Rugged Treks too, for the Sequoia. Need to research them more.

My truck had the Cooper Rugged Treks, when I bought it. They are definitely good tires, but they were really worn. I've always run Nittos on my Jeep and other trucks, but have always wanted to try the Duratracs. Now that I have them on the Tundra, I'm probably going to put a set on the Jeep as well, because I absolutely love them!

I had their sliders on my 2014 4Runner when I had it. They are a quality product. I bought them bare, and had someone local powder coat them. They were the ones with the bumpout at the rear doors, and had the 3 dimple pattern to step onto. No complaints here!

I meant the Discoverer RTs. These are a brand new tire so I’m guess my laziness this morning referenced a different tire. Or the previous owner of your truck wore out a set in less than six months!

    Excellent! Thanks for the info

Nope, that's my bad! I must need more coffee! I just looked at original pictures and mine had the Discoverer S/T, not the R/T. The tires were definitely old, and the truck only had 68k miles on it - very low for a 2010.

I had a set of sliders on my 2010 4runner that were sold when i got the tundra. Came bare and I just rattle canned it. It was the best deal I could find on a set of sliders at that time. Shipped pretty quick if i recall but that was years ago.

I had them on my Jeep which I owned for 7 years before the Tundra, fantastic tires for the Jeep.

The Jeep forum is where I first heard about the Duratracs years ago. Everyone always seems to have raging reviews, so I finally decided to try them. So glad I did! They have great traction off road, but also on these narrow windy wet roads around here. Great all around tire

I commented in this thread a while ago how the Duratrac isn't popular with the Tundra community at all, which surprises me. Maybe they don't perform as well with the weight of the Tundra?

That's interesting! I've had them on for about a month and a half, and like I said, they perform awesome both on and off road. But that's just my 2 cents o_O
