    Sounds like boat ownership.

Hope you like the CR-V. My mom wants one, so going to do some research on them and buy one.

Just a lot of little reasons. Nothing to do with MPG. In the end, a full size truck is just not the best vehicle for our lifestyle.

Actually the CR-V is turbo. Smooth little engine. But hard to wrap my brain around this little 1.5l about the size of a sewing machine putting out 190hp. 6th year of them being the in the CR-V so not too worried about it though.

So when you sold your truck, in today's market did you make money, break even or take a loss?

It was a 2-step truck ownership actually. Bought a TSS in Nov 20 for $41k. Paid $4k to move to the TRD Sport in May 21. I grew to hate the TSS ride and handling...the TRD Sport was so much better behaved on the interstate where it lived 95% of the time. So that was $45k. Actual trade in was about $42k, but that washed sales tax of $1875, so $43,875 "credit" if you will. So "loss" at this point was $1125. I stripped the truck of the bed mat and tonneau cover that I added, and also pulled off the OEM tube steps and all weather floor mats. I also put PPF on the truck for $600. Sold the cover and mat for $475 (paid $800). So subtract off $925 (600+800-475). Bottom line it cost me $2050 (1125+925) to drive two different new Tundras for 1 year for a total of about 8000 miles. These both were 2 WD. That number will get a bit better when I eventually sell the tube steps and floor mats. I don't consider it a loss really...just cost of transportation.

As for the CR-V, it has always been tough to get much of a discount on those. Back in 2017 best I could find was $500 off MSRP only if I bought the base LX model. The EX and above were MSRP. So buying this one for MSRP feels like a win in todays market. Negotiations took 4 days of texting back and forth after they appraised my Truck and I laid eyes on the CR-V. Dealerships don't like writing out 5-digit checks! In that I felt a bit lucky they did not sell it from under me.

As we say to everyone that moves in a different direction, don't be a stranger. Don't have to have a Tundra to be part of the community.

And we always say :worthless: too! C'mon, man! Pics of the new ride!

We had a 4x 2005 CR-V lasted 78k being beat to shit by three teenagers as it became the kid mobile as they got old enough to drive.

My daughter that could break a ball of diamond was unable to kill it , sold it in 2009 with 125,000km 78k miles) as it was from Mexico in Phoenix with difficulty getting 'Muricans to understand 125km=78k miles for 6500.

It was a great vehicle for us.

    Not too shabby.

If it’s a new CRV did they fix the oil dilution issues?

we had a 2018 that gas would dilute into the oil. Oil turned to water and smelled like fuel between oil changes.

I have similar issues, it's really not economical for me to own a truck at this point in life. It's mostly me only in it. But if I downgraded I'd want an SUV, which means a second 4runner in our family and a whopping +3mpg and the exact same insurance costs. Maybe $10k in my pocket.

But then I have a feeling the wife would want a Sequoia.

EDIT: I could get a highlander, but I honestly don't know why that vehicle exists. It's like Toyota listened to all 8 people that complained about the size of a Rav4 and the price of a 4Runner so they had to fill that non-existent gap in the market.

It's all that clamoring for a unibody transverse motor "suv"

I have a friend that totaled a previous gen Highlander and got the current gen and misses her old one.
