Foothills Toyota in Burlington, WA are charging $1,999 over MSRP right now. This is an exchange for a quote on my build, SR5 4x4 Crewmax with the TRD Off-road Premium Pckg and no extra add-ons or accessories.

Not being difficult here but how can you say that when neither truck is out and you haven’t driven them.

it’s completely possible the 6.2 v8 10 speed is overall a more enjoyable drive. The Interiors we haven’t even seen in person yet. Reliability is perceived at this point, I don’t disagree the Toyota should be more reliable but this isn’t a simple set up. They need to earn it imo.

Tell them to piss off. Any dealer charging over MSRP should be boycotted.

I think the configurator is just totally dependent on zip code for whatever reason - who knows why Toyota did that but I wouldn't hit the panic button yet.

I'm in CO and ordered a '22 SR5 Army Green with the OR Prem Package, Prem Audio, and the Adv Off Road package just last week - had to run around a bunch because some packages wouldn't work with others, and their system let them know that, so had to go back to the drawing board several times but that config finally worked.

On the public Toyota build configurator for my current zip code, it looks like you actually cannot get the OR Prem with any other options bundled in. I tried the zip code I formerly lived in, in a different state, and all the options that I ordered are there and available in a single package called "OR Premium with options" - looks like the options/packages I worked out somehow came out to be a few hundred bucks more than on the Toyota build site single package, so who knows maybe I got some extra stuff in there somewhere? All the packages are pretty vague at this point anyway.

Called the dealer just to be sure and he said everything still looks good on their end, that the dealers have a totally different system/configurator that let's them know what can and can't be done. His verbatim was "the truck we ordered is what you'll get." I've also seen other window stickers from "in-transit" vehicles from several dealers that are identical to my build excluding color so I'm not too worried about it... They said they would call if anything changes - I'll let the forum know if that happens but honestly I don't expect it to...

Toyota's allocation system just sucks. Where you live should not force you to get a truck that isn't exactly what you want, and I would rather Toyota have the builder show all options to every zip code so you could at least play around to determine what you want is actually what you want and get a final price on it.

That seems really odd to me. I was on there playing around on Tuesday and just threw in the only US zip code that I know. We were told on here that's an area that's only getting 60 trucks over the next 3 months and yet it looked like there are tons of packages (for the SR5, anyway. I don't have any interest in the higher trims.)

No firm date on delivery, as expected. He said they are hoping for 6 months give or take a month or two. He said they haven't started producing Army Green's in mass at the factory yet, and it really just depends on when some similar builds/colors are actually being built.

Placed the order with a pretty large dealer here and I was only #3 on their list for a custom build, so I'm sure they won't have much of an allocation issue, but until the order is actually allocated they are in the dark on delivery date. I appreciated the honest answer, makes sense.

This just came from a friend of mine on a Grey Tundra

“Limited 4x4 Tundra 2022 $58,987 but this one is sold tho”
Without tax title and license and they were putting on a couple other little dealys?? This is at the dealer live truck live price.

Sounds about right. A fully loaded Limited is around $58k. Are the "dealys" (which I'm assuming is dealer add on bs that you don't want but can't take off) included in that price or is it getting added on?

^^^ he didn’t say I am sure they are extras that will be added to the price. I asked how many they received and he said “ONE!!!!!”.

Correct. It's dealer allocation in your zip. This vid explains how it works and how the buyer can manipulate the system a bit. I've seen Tacomas on lots with 100 miles on them because of dealer swaps after delivery.

I told them I'm in no hurry and I'll look else where or wait

I'm checking a few other dealers in the sound area for now. I think it will be helpful to know which dealerships are being ass hats and charging dealer markups

Anyone have the numbers comparing ground clearance between 2.5 and 3rd gens? The 3rd gens look pretty low.

I'm pretty loyal to Smart Motors in Madison,WI they've been at it a long time and #1 Toyota volume dealer in WI.
No markups above MSRP...bought (2) 4Runners from them and now we own (2) Tundras.

There could be wait times of up to a year and have on Pro models.???? At a trickle of ONE being delivered this could stretch out into extra innings!!!:)

Don't believe that phony article. Nobody knows what the wait times could be and if there even will be one. A year and a half wait for the Pro would mean you would be getting it at the same time the 2024's are being delivered, and I just don't believe that will happen.
