so does anyone know if there are passive underseat subs? this little amp can manage 50w x2 for the door speakers and 200w for a sub. i'd rather have only one wire coming in for an amp instead of 2 amps.

That phase to phase fault would vaporize the dude, not to mention the wrench.
The plant I work at, we always wear FR and throw the bomb suit on when we're switching or working with live 480v and up.

I just play with 600v hybrids. Bleh. And that’s only after the boost converter. Battery voltage is around 250

I see quite a bit of DC at work, but I would be a fish out of water working on a hybrid car.

Eh. The battery is DC. Anything inside the trans or inverter is AC

I heard they have a tune that adds 20HP just cause it tricks the ECU to believe the truck’s exterior paint is…black

Like not earth shattering. But it will help eek more power out. Especially if exhaust has been done.

now with boost? This is a huge deal

It would be nice for towing. Can’t find any info regarding the 4.7 on their website though.

It’s fresh. My guess is you can eek out 15 ft lbs on a stock motor if tuned properly. More with other mods

The VF tuner on tacos also allows calibration of the speedo. So hopefully our trucks can do that too… I’d love to have an accurate speedo lol

OVTune is the company. VF Tuner is the product I believe. It started out for boosted Tacos and Tundras but now they're tuning all kinds of Toyotas including naturally aspirated engines. It's a performance tune. Ideal for getting the most from your engine mods.

I had only one amp in the Tundra originally but for sub I had a small wedge box behind the passenger seat. I think IIRC it blocked one or maybe two clicks of rear seat travel but the top of the seat at a normal angle still touched the rear of the cab. Also easy to remove and relocate if necessary. I agree on wanting to minimize amp footprint in a RC. But you will have an easier time with a removable wedge than under seat sub. An amp under the seat works great, a sub less so.

In your shoes I’d probably want buckets and bandpass sub in a custom center console still. It would sound great, give a nice mounting deck for the amp, not affect seat travel or under / behind the seat in any way, and give a proper arm rest and could even supply some cup holders (though the bench seat cup holders aren’t bad at all). Also the bolt holes are ready to go. Back when I was your age that is what I did in the F150 and it was my favorite setup until the breakin where it was effectively destroyed.

It’s just awfully hard to beat a wedge on a budget in a RC. That’s where the easy grab free space is.

I remember sleeping in the cab a few times, or at least trying to, and it was always miserable. With a shell as nice as yours, and not having two kids, plus a plethora of better vehicles for people hauling, a two seater seems ideal. I think I only used the middle seat once in the 10 years I owned it in my youth. Always wanted buckets back then.

Highly ironic how much I am stoked on a bench now so I can take both of my boys in it. That’s a unique and temporary thing though, maybe 10 years until they are too big to stuff one in the middle.

I have hopes of making it to Mr Marv to get a custom box designed which can maximize the space behind both seats. I will keep you in the loop on that just in case you are interested. I may relocate the bottle jack and tools.

Designing the cab for a permanent shell is a bit of a different world than without or removable, especially with lockable windoors. There are so many options nowdays for gear storage: bed rails, shell lighting, molle panels, quick fists, etc.

Congrats on the new job @Tundra2
My last day is Friday. I gave three months notice, allowed them to talk me in to staying another year & that date is finally here come Friday.
Already working p.t. at the new job (for 8 years - LOL). Staying p.t through Dec, then go F.T. Jan 2. I'll be trading my blue collar for a white one. Haven't worn white since 2006, so will be a bit of a change.
But going from big dog in a die-ing company to BIG dog in vibrant growing like a weed company is going to be south soothing.

Good luck noah - hope it fits you well.

I actually did write my name in an inconspicuous location, but didn't include the year. I should have...

Everyone here knows that light blue is my color though. Wyatt, and I were talking about markers. He asked "Why is everything important written in light blue paint pen?" I laughed, and said that I mainly wrote those as reminders for myself, but they help the next guy too.

There isn't a machine out here that doesn't have some kind of mark on it from me. They are not just paint marks on a piece of metal or plastic to me. They are indicators of struggle, strife, ye olden positions of sensors, and plates. Every hard fought, mind twisting problem I've worked on earned a paint mark. Sometimes a word, sometimes a star, sometimes a position, sometimes a simple dot.

As I type this I realize I've created my owm system of runes. Cryptic symbols that only Wyatt and I know. He was right there through it all with me for 85% of it. He knows what most runes mean as he was there. In the thick of it. My right hand man. I've taught me everything I've learned, and he's taught me as well.

I had so much more typed, but I'm only reminiscing in my formative years. Perhaps this is a post for the campfire thread. Something else that fell by the wayside for me. As you have found out personally @NUDRAT, and for that I apologize to you.

Looks like they're opening a huge cannibas store (supermarket size) in the neighborhood in the next town over (need to take a pic). I'm now looking forward to even more traffic from the stoner crowd.

I'll have to bring a friend and test their knowledge if I decide to visit.
