The truck was provided to them by Toyota Canada in Scarborough.

SR5 TRD OR is what I'm looking at. Probably swap the chrome mustache for color match and down the road have the TRD lift installed if it's not outrageously expensive
It will be so I'll probably go aftermarket
. I'd like Softex seats, but not at the price of the limited so I'll go with Clazzio or something.

I camp, hunt, fish and tow boats and quads down rough backroads regularly. I need a truck to do truck stuff. If I didn't have to get the TRD OR package in order to get the terrain select, crawl control, locker and tow features I wouldn't bother paying the extra. I think those features should be standard equipment on 4x4 trucks. Extra cameras, heated seats/steering wheels, panoroof and big screen in-dash TV don't interest me at all. While I don't mind the luxury, it's not worth the price for me. The panoroof genuinely makes me nervous. I go through a windshield at least once a year. I'm shocked I haven't had my sunroof chipped or smashed, though some rock chips in the roof are evidence of close calls.

Agree the rear locker should be standard. Dont get why its not. The tow package comes standard on all Tundras. I don't think there is any difference in towing setup other than the auto straight path assist and extendable towing mirrors on the Platinum/1794. Also maybe the retractable air dam on those models too.

Oh damn, I see it now...thats an SR5 TRD OR!

Sorry, I was wrong. That does appear to be a Canadian truck. My bad.

That was strange, I was ready to quote you and it wouldn't allow me. You're not completely wrong. The truck they had was a pre production.

Do you have to go to the OR to get the tow features? I was lambasted for wanting a rear locker for winter driving so I would probably just get the cheapest SR5 that had all the other features I want. Heated seats and steering wheel are damn nice when it's -30 and your truck doesn't fit in the garage.

I was under the impression that you needed the OR to get the straight line trailer assist. That may be incorrect though. Biggest reason for the OR for me is the multi-terrain select, crawl control and locker. I don't mind heated seats and wheel, but I've found that leaving the heat and fan maxed when parking then using remote start gets everything warmed up well enough for me. I don't want to pay extra to have the heated seats and wheel.

Platinum/1794 come with straight line trailer assist, on US models it can be added on lower trims, of course it’s not possible in Canada.

Not sure how the new Tundras work, but most new vehicles automatically heat or cool when auto started. My F150 puts on the heated seats and heated wheel, too.

    Well, that's bullshit.

When remote started, the 2021 F150 XLT I have for work runs the heater at what ever setting it was left at when parked and only runs the fan on low even if you left the fan set to high when you parked. It will only bump the fan to high once you put the key in. It drives me nuts. No heated seats or wheel in it, I'm not that important at work.

Maybe the Ford trucks with auto climate control work differently. Not sure what Toyotas are like these days.

Anybody know if these trucks come with running boards? I assume they do, but don't see anything in the Canadian order guide. Also don't see any mention of the auto deploy boards on Platinum/1794.

Maybe not. None of the Tundra before came with them. They were installed at the dealership as an accessory.

I thought I heard mentioned that the higher trim Tundras had electric folding running boards?

My local dealer emailed me a copy. Its a couple months old, but still seems accurate based on all the current info being relased.

No mention of running boards of any type in it.

I know the US versions of Plat/1794 have power folding. They've been problematic on my F150. Need to lube/spray with penetrating oil to keep from seizing. Wouldn't want them again if keeping the truck more than 4 or 5 years. But they do deploy at the perfect step height which is nice.

The power running board is a $1350 factory option on Platinum/1794 in the US, I guess we will have more info when the Canadian configurator comes out on Dec 3.

That would be my order package if and when I do. I had that exact setup on my 08 and on my 19, the rear seats are still plenty even for adults.

I think you have it correct. Net payload will depend on the weight of actual accessories purchased, obviously.

Yes. Converts to 121 litres. Current ratings show 19mpg mixed, so that's good for 972KM to a tank.

In the ordering guide, I see memory mirrors on Limited and Platinum, but no memory seats, not even on Platinum?

On the Toyota.com build site the Limited Off Road comes in those nice black wheels. From what I’ve read the Canadian Limited off roads will come in those not so great bicolor wheels. Anyone have the scoop on what they will actually look like? The black would look so much better!

All signs point to Canada getting the ugly 18" wheels. I keep hoping that its not true, but I'm pretty damn sure its true.

US Limited TRD OR gets 20” black wheels, we get 18” bicolor wheels

    Because Toyota Canada are idiots.

I'd be uprading to 16" or 17" wheels anyways. 18" - 20" are stupid for off road.

Only $160 to fill from empty at current Ontario prices, which is better than the current $190 from empty.

Good luck. The trend on new trucks seems to be to make the brakes too big for 17" wheels.

In such a case, I'll go as small as I can and with as large a sidewall tire as possible. I do believe current Tundras can go down to 17". Hopefully they didn't increase the brake suze on the '22s.
