USAF Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief).
I've worked the U-2 and the F-16. Been doing it for 13 years.

Ran a mile of conduit(primary power) with 10 other electricians. 4, 3" pipes and 1, 6" pipe.

I work in the parts department at a Toyota dealership, been here for the past 2 decades now. Started a family young, needed a job to provide and just got stuck lol.

 

The goal is this: A company to pay you to do your hobbies.

 

I work for the Canada Revenue Agency as a GST/HST auditor. For those in the USA, that's the Canadian equivalent of the IRS but I only deal with our national sales tax and not income taxes.

 

I work as railroad engineer for the OP’s competition.

I was a bar manager and in the military as a reservist, but have been on Active Duty orders for the past 4 years so came to the realization that my “job” now is the military. 7 more years to go until I get my 20 year letter and I’m out. Im hoping to have 10 years active when all said and done. But who knows what life has in store.

 

Best of luck and thank you. I retire in a little over a year, but I bet you are much younger. You might have a minimum of 10 years active if I get my news correctly...

 

I joined late in life. I’m 39. My ultimate goal is to retire at 55. But congratulations on being close to retirement. I can’t wait. I don’t like the direction this new military is headed into.

Friend of mine who's an USAFR SMSgt has been trying to retire for the past 4 years and it keeps being denied.

 

That happens with specialized jobs. My parent’s neighbor was a WO5 and tried to retire for like 6 years. But he was too valuable to the Military at that time. After a certain amount of time you sign an indefinite contract.

 

Network Engineer for a major aerospace firm (coming up on 25 years).

 

I just noticed the tie inserter. I was the guy that came in afterwards to locate and fix the broken wires.

 

US Navy Diver for 9 years. Currently an Engineer for a Oil/Gas exploration company.

 

Facilities manager for a largish environmental non profit. I help look after 4 education properties, 2 being on islands, 1 entire island we own. One tobacco farm converted to a regenerative farm. One oyster restoration center. One small tree planting distribution center. And a fleet of Fords and a mix of trailers.

 

Well I still have 13 yrs on you but we probably see eye to eye. I don't want to walk the line on forum rules, so I'll keep to myself on the latter. But we can chat offline sometime. Thanks, brother.
