So Best Buy has had 2 PS5 restocks since I brought up the above, and one of them was for TotalTech members only. Hopefully they continue to allow normal people the opportunity.

But then again, I am also an Elite+ member, and I hate admitting that I spend way too much money there to achieve that status. [soapbox] I feel like Elite+ members should automatically gain TotalTech, or at least have a discount toward the cost or some limited version of it. [/soapbox]

 

Any store that wants me to pay for the privilege of shopping there can go fly a kite.

Ive got a couple kites my nephew is too old for. A couple plastic cheapo’s and a wood and canvas one my grandpa let me help build. We also did model rockets. Grandpa was cool.

Huh so they're dividing the the restocks between members and nonmembers. Kinda ass. Guessing they're only doing this for consoles then, and not gpu's. Not a totaltech member and was able to order another 3080ti on last weeks restock since I think my first one has an issue so got it to compare and see if the second one does the same thing

 

I'm with you on that. But I would make an exception if it could guarantee me a PS5 before Christmas, and only because I have close to $200 in gift cards/rewards certs that would cover most of the membership cost. Which is also the reason why I'd prefer to get my hands on one from BB in general to cut some of the cost. Plus, it's for my son. If it were for me, forget it. I've been 110% happy on my PC after upgrading it earlier this year.

 

Yeah looks that way. If they allowed members to reserve one, I wouldn't hesitate. I'd really like to get a PS5 for my son for Christmas.

As for GPUs, I believe they did have a TotalTech member exclusive maybe a couple of months ago.

 

You registered to the Playsation direct buy? Might get lucky and receive and invitation to buy one directly.

 

Yep, I'm registered. But something just occurred to me, is it just a one-time registration, or does it require re-registration before each restock?

 

Think its a one-time, one registration per psn ID type deal. I didnt see anything on the site about having to re-register after each restock.

 

Cool. I doubt I'll get picked, though. From what I remember reading, "psn activity" is a factor on who gets selected, and I can only remember 2 occasions that I've fired up my PS4 this year.

Oh I missed that note lol. Last time I logged in to my PSN ID I was still playing my Vita. Been playing PC for a long time but these days only console I play is my Switch.

 

I just get my little brothers hand me ups, but im pretty sure he fist fought an old lady for his xbox x or whatever is better than the xbox one.

 

Yeah I only use my PS4 for exclusives now. Although I would love to replay Ghost of Tsushima. But now that there's a Director's Cut, I'd really prefer to pick that up on PS5 instead, especially since there's a savegame transfer.

 

FYI, check your emails. I got a notification from Microsoft that they sent out a special link to purchase the Xbox Series X to those who have a Microsoft account.

Unfortunately, you have to purchase the console as a bundle with an extra controller and digital game that they list.

Probably cause the last time I logged on to my Live account was some time in 2020 lol

 

All my yapping about waiting on a Steam sale for Death Stranding finally happened. Grabbed it for $17.99.

The question now is how long it's gonna sit there in my Steam library along with the other 3,720 games that are waiting for me to play. *sigh*

 

A lot of good sales on Xbox now. Picked up Car Mechanic Simulator 2018. It is slow but still kinda fun. Even my kid likes it and he's not into those kinds of things at all.

I also picked up Far: Lone Sails. It appears to be an indi game. Was stupid cheap and had top reviews. The same is slow, simple and too short, but the art is amazing and it was fairly entertaining. I'm a fan of steampunk and this game just mesmerized me. I played it 3 times and took screen shots that I want print for wall art.

 

If you have a PC, you should try My Summer Car. Though apparently it has some pretty tedious parts.

Gotta figure out if I can download them off the Xbox…

 

Should be able to share them to a social media if you have it, then copy paste, or is it possible to access your Xbox account on a PC? IDK because I run Sony, so I'm not sure what Xbox can do.

Sorry but I don't see what's so good about an Xbox. I bought an Xbox one a few years back and I've always hated it. It seems to need to update every week. I have shit slow internet so it's always a 1-2 hour delay before I can play it. If I would have known this form the start it would have gone right back to the store. It's a so called special edition with preloaded games so it wasn't returnable from the get go or at least that was the store policy.
My last console was a Wii and it seemed I never had to update it. I got a Nintendo Switch earlier this year and it never seems to require any ridiculously long update to use it. I still like my original Sega Genesis I bought in the early 90's best but the corded remotes are a pain these days.

 

It is a Microsoft product, so weekly updates are the norm. If you are not drawn to the newer games and are accepting of a slow internet, then yeah…you don’t need it.
