$@%#^! Radio on the fritz AGAIN!

I have a 2014 SR5 Crewmax with a Nav radio Non JBL. When I got the truck 5 years ago when streaming from bluetooth it would spontaneously just shut off. Back then they said there was a software update but the radio crashed during the update so they replaced it. Now 5 years later it is doing the same thing. Not really intested in fixing the stock system. What are the options? I used to do car audio from 1996 until about 2007 so I am not afraid of some work. Looking for a good solution that won't sound like ass and intergrate properly into the car without drama. Thanks!

 

Do you have an iPhone? Do you have apple AirPods?

if so, remove the AirPods from you Bluetooth menu on your phone.

whenever my AirPods are connected to my phone and I use it for streaming or a phone call, it will crash my head unit.
Removing the AirPods from the phone eliminated the problem.
It’s been almost two years.

 

Interesting. Don't have air pods, just Bose Soundsport, a few bluetooth spoeakers and my work van. There were no other bluetooth devices in the car or anywhere near it (Miles away) When it did it. I was on a facetime call.

 

Get a Kenwood deck that has wireless carplay/android auto.
I have the dmx1037 and love it. Screen fits nicely on the dash, sounds great!
