I’m sure a lot of those are related so probably not 17 issues but an issue nonetheless

300-308 are all misfire codes. 171 and 174 are lean codes.

I'd say you've got an o2 sensor or fuel pressure issue.

There's a definite hiss from under the intake, however, there's no vacuum lines under there. And that backfire into the intake has me clueless. I reinstalled the intake with a new gasket back in 18 I think. I don't see how any of that could matter though. I'm thinking fuel as well, but it runs fine while driving. It's only at idle where it's fubar.

My guess was coil(s). Googled my thoughts and this popped up (for the record I am a internet mechanic in training) -

What are common reasons my Toyota Tundra has a rough idle?
While there are a variety of reasons your Toyota Tundra has a rough idle, the most common 3 are a vacuum leak, an issue with the spark plugs, or a problem with the ignition coil.

    34%
    of the time it's
    Vacuum Leak

    21%
    of the time it's

I can't decide if I like these or not. Definitely curious if they fit our first gens though and curious about the backspacing.

No sir. I can give that a try tomorrow. But I'm worried it's more than that since it's still hissing.

I thought coils too back when it started, as some of them have cracks. But, it's progressed well beyond that.

Multiple misfires and lean fuel. Check all the hoses and spark plugs, wires, boots. Maybe fuel pump if none of that works.

I spent a lot of time looking at those. I did't like the offset or the 7.5" width for my projected tire size. There were some knockoffs that got close, but I went to a simpler Method @ 17X8.5 @0mm

Last time I had a similar issue, it was water in the gas. Didn't show up under throttle, only idling at lights or after starting up. Couldn't hurt to put in some Heet (dry gas) and 1/2 tank of gas and see if it gets resolved.

I didn't have the 2k jump though, so it could be something else as well.

That 2k jump happens often with vacuum leaks.

I just replaced the hoses. And I don't think spark would cause multiple misfires at this point.

I don't dknow why I quoted this. Chalk it up to beer. My bad.

I don't see how both banks could fail, but it could be a possibility.

I was thinking about bad gas, but this has been happening for a while now, and keeps getting worse.

If one banks misfiring it will drag the other bank with it. 1 dead cylinder in a car can cause 6 misfires if not addressed.

I think I’m strange but I really don’t know that I like the look of any aftermarket wheels on a Toyota truck. I do like the aftermarket options on width and backspacing though, and I can see how headlocks would be useful for doing legit wheeling.

I would tend to say I don't like 98% of the aftermarket wheels out there. I don't like the fake beadlock look. I like the SCS stuff. I like some of the simpler method offerings and I like the 4runner wheels that I have on my truck now as well as the TRD Pros in matte black that I see a lot of people run on our trucks. Agree on the nice options for backspacing and width. I do like the original limited 17s that were on our our trucks too.

Yeah, they are nice. I like the 2021's a bit better, but $168 is a pretty good price all things considered. The 7" width is the only part I'm not sure about with these.
