Hey guys I've tried the search but with my limited experience on forums I'm guessing I may have overlooked this topic.
Anyways can we pair the home link to a power gate opener? The brand I ha e is ez gate.

shouldn’t be a problem, a gate opener and a garage door opener work exactly the same way. You will just have to pair with your truck.

That was my thoughts. And I believe I had it programmed. The gate opened once but didn't close.

Is it possible the gate has one command for open and another for close?

Not sure I'm brand new to the Tundra family. But my owners manual states it will work on gates, doors, lights etc..

What does your gate remote look like? Is it a single button or one for open and a different one to close? When you say you got it to open once but not close, can you close it with the normal method and open it again with the Homelink button? Or it worked once then never again? There’s a different process to pair rolling code remotes vs others.

Well now that you put that way, with the same button opening and closing the gate that would appear the code is fixed and not a rolling code. I kinda feel stupid for not realizing that lol. But then again that's why I asked for advice..

The remote has one button, press it once to open, and once again to close..

I only ask because I m new too. I’ve had a 2018 Limited for just about 2 months and don’t know if I had been missing something. I don’t think I have this in my truck

If it’s a single button it’s still probably a rolling code, since I think most gates use that. I can’t remember what I finally had to do to get it to work, but it was an awkward process of 2-3 second hold and release until Homelink learned the remote.

It could also be in the roof console with the moon roof controls. That’s where my wife’s Highlander has them.

I don’t see ez gate as compatible on the home link website, maybe that’s why you’re having issues.

Thanks never crossed my mind to look there lol. The gate opener goes under a couple of different brands. I'll have a look.

Thanks SpyderRC After looking on the home link website and following the directions there got it working. They differed slightly form the owners manual. I suppose different brands have different pairing sequences.
Anyways got it working great. One button opens and closes the gate now.. :)

Excellent! I’ll look there. I’d been looking in the console on the roof where it was in my GMC
