Here it's about $2k+. $1k for the magnaflow CATs and $1k for the stainless steel pipes and their muffler. That was a couple years back. It may be several hundred more. The $8k quote is about $4k for both CATs, and $700-800 for the OEM muffler, resonator and tailpipe section. So to me it seems like $5k in parts and $3k in labor.

Luckily State Farm covered it all. But yea. It wasn’t a fun mess all caused by a lack of seatbelt and ofcourse, someone on the road without a license doing something stupid

Driving crackie today. Been sitting for a week, but fired right up. Powa! :muscleflexing:

First thing I noticed was the exhaust smelled like a mixture of gunpowder, and fireworks. Took a peak under while the exhaust was still visible.

Better get that pretty frame coated up soon before the salt shows up. I had a few small scratches of bare metal on mine after they swapped just due to shipment or install reasons that I sprayed with paint real quick.

Might wanna grab the door cards too. Those look pretty mint.

I notice it's got factory tow pkg too, but can't remember if yours does. I realize there's more than just the outlet and harness. Was talking with @daveeasa about what all is involved. I know the part numbers for the harness and outlet in the back, but there's a controller, fuse, and some other stuff involved also.

Just got off the horn with barren county, place really holds true to its name. Trucks been sitting there since 2014. Not a pull a part, it's a "we'll pull this for you, and you come get it."

Not my favorite because I like to inspect with my own eyes before hand, and sometimes you get Brutus pulling parts, and then there goes your seat sensor wiring....

Anyways, that truck is pretty much picked clean.
    • Tail gate is gone
    • tow hitch is gone
    • Trailer harness is gone
    • bed is gone
    • passengers rear quarter glass is gone
    • headliner is gone.
    • Passengers side door panel is gone

Seats are still available, but dude said that it's been a long time since that truck was water tight. Rear quarter glass has been gone since 2019...

They are supposed to send me pictures today, or tomorrow. The run down of all parts avaliable, and price.

    Both front seats: $150
    Drivers door panel: $30.
    Radio bezel: $25

Waiting on pictures to give them a Yay or Nay now...

Just got a phone call from the junkyard. That truck was crushed six months ago because it was "older stock."

Get a pair of jeep style suspension seats and cobble up some mounts. Makes the most sense in a single cab.

Boooooo. Sucks man. Someone doing a poor job of tracking inventory.

You may try an 'Advanced' proximity search on Fleabay for the year and model only. I find some places like to list parts trucks on there, they'll list it under one part, but show pics of the donor in current shape to coax you into asking about other parts.

Weighing options. Being realistic. Gotta see if it's gonna run right with correct oxygen sensors first.

I mean you can piece together a stock type system for under a grand. Will it be as nice as DD absolutely not but it'll get the job done. I may be off on the clamp/donut count but it'll get you close.

Maybe, just maybe. Will need more research. Was kinda hoping for long tubes, but unsure of how local exhaust shops would do. Will need to price check.

Been thinking on exhaust plans again, and am now thinking of going against long tubes unless I can make it quiet while also still gaining some from the LT.

Let's be realistic... the plan is a tow rig. Odds are, I'll be in campsites, historical markers, and national parks. Realistically, I don't want to be that guy who wakes up the whole campsite just to go to the shit jacket early in the morning. If I'm towing a small travel camper, this will be my only vehicle out on the road. I'm not going to tow a car behind the camper....

Not against going with the stuff posted up on RA earlier by @Festerw

Unsure which direction I want to go still.

Headers dont have anything to do with the noise. Just get the biggest muffler(s) you can fit.

on my buddies dodge we found a big muffler from like a chevy 8100 in a dumpster behind a muffler shop.
Bigger=quieter, unless the glass has blown out.
