Trans Fluid/Oil/Coolant? Potential leak on 2021 with 200 miles on it?

Found this pic on another thread

    298F0271-0FFA-4273-9A87-DD99A2AD0058.jpg
Got a Tundra yesterday and it has 200 miles on it

Crawling around under there I found a drip on the exact spot shown in this picture.
there was also fluid/oil on the frame below it.

Coolant above there also I know, there isn't really enough liquid to confirm which it is.

    Thoughts? Experiences?

Isn’t that the rear main seal? Did you smell or use some other method to see if the fluid was oil/coolant/trans fluid? Should be able to tell a difference between those 3. Sure it wasn’t your ac dripping?

Warranty. Take it straight back to the dealer for them to inspect. No matter what it is, don't play.

It wasn't water, and I haven't used the A/C yet.

I'm not gonna taste it, it looked like oil to me.

It looks like it was coming from that hole, not running down the sides.

    Yes.

Just wondering if others had seen a drip in that location, especially on 2021s.

I would definitely have it back to the dealership for sure. Too much to pay for it leaking anything already!!

Sorry this is happening, don't worry, take it in, get a loaner and let them fix it.

I assume it has to be the original Dealer who I am speaking with right now on the phone...They are 2 hours away so that sucks.

I have two local dealers also.

Any dealer can do warranty work. Doesn’t have to be the one you bought the truck from.

Ya, I'm not messing around with it.
Got it with 2 miles on it and babied it all day yesterday to travel 120.
Did 80 today and figured I would crawl around and check...and yep, we got a drip in really shitty spot.

Made an appointment for wednesday and am asking to speak with higher ups right not tonight.

    Yes, thanks.

I have a wednesday appt at the original dealer.
So tomorrow, (tuesday) I will get a local dealership to look at it.

This was a custom order that took 4 months to arrive and then the person who ordered backed out and it was just what I was looking for(long bed with upgrades). Wonder why it took so long to arrive and if they noticed some issues like this?

Is there dry pink crust around it? That would be coolant. My coolant level was dropping from new. Crawled under, saw a similar drip and a bunch of crust. Took it back to the dealer. Said they changed an oring in a coolant line under the intake. Juries still out. Still see some drips but the level doesn't seem to be dropping.

I tried to dip a paper towel I wiped a drip of the "oil" with in the coolant to compare color, but I can't get at that pink goodness due to the coolant reservoir design.

Can't confirm but it does not look pink to me.

    Nope
No crust, and doesn't look pink.
Looks like some sort of oil to me.

Everything is brand new though so not sure how long crust takes to form, but I am doubting it at this moment.

I assume you are talking about your 2021 DC
How long ago did they replace the O-ring?

A month ago. Maybe something different then. Like others said, get it back to the dealer as soon as you can.

I hope it's something simple and easy for you. Never a fun day to see a leak on a brand new truck. I imagine you did some digging for this truck with it being two hours away. Good luck

Just drove down to dealer to try and talk to them before they closed for the day.
    Missed them by 3 minutes.

    It almost went like this...

Dropped it off at dealer for an early morning appointment. They said they are having a higher up technician look at it since it is brand new, so it could take a few hours.

Upon further review the drip appears to be oil as both the coolant and trans fluid have some pink to them and this drip/leak did not. Oil dipstick showed halfway between L and F.

Dealer has determined it is not an active leak, and is likely from residual oil from factory assembly.

Cleaned area and asked me to drive it for a few days to see if it becomes an "active leak".
Even though I know for a fact that area was clean at mile 2 and had oil drip at mile 200.

Of course all this phrasing comes from Toyota itself.

So I will drive it as normal (15-20 miles) and keep an eye on it, if I see anything I am to bring it back in and then it will be considered an active leak. Obviously, I will be peeking at it daily until I am no longer concerned about it leaking.

Hopefully it turns out like this post by @Tyman I found here from a similar thread

"I had that also on my '20. In the 14000 miles it has now, I’ve never seen it again."

I bought my truck new in March 2020, as most of us do I got on the creeper and rolled around scrutinizing the underside. I found an oil drip on mine also, (not the same spot, but from under a steel plate) paper towel dry then a couple days latter checked again, a little more oil was there. A second round of paper towel drying and never any more oil there. I came to the same conclusion of residual oil from factory assembly.

That is very possibly what happened on my rig.

I just drove it 45 miles to work it and get it hot, also climbed a steep hill and when I got home no drip to be found.

Maybe the heat generated from mile 2 to 200 helped the factory oil mess drip out the bottom of the bell housing and that will be the end of it.

Hopefully this thread can help somebody down the line.
Thanks all for the input and jokes.

Mine had that. 5300 miles and still bone dry since I wiped it up. Pretty sure it’s just assembly lube.

I noticed a little wetness at that spot on my 2021 as well. Cleaned it up and it hasn’t come back. Agree that it’s likely just assembly lube.

If it's leaking oil, then it's got oil in it!

JK, glad your issue is getting resolved.

This leak is a coolant leak from the FIPG gasket near the throttle body. It leaks into engine galley and then downward. if you take your engine cover off I bet you can see it leaking near the throttle body.
