If I'm in the market for 4.56 gears, do I need the whole install kit or can I just buy the front and rear rings and pinions?

Interview tomorrow before work for a job that I am woefully under qualified for. New start up factory/company. Job listing shows tuition assistance, and am hopeful to be rolled into the maintaining department, and put through some classes on PLC, and applied information. Could hang around KY for a year or two if it becomes reality. Hopeful to advance my skill set even if it is a pay cut temporarily.

Recruitment HR lady seemed very eager to speak with me on the phone. Felt good, but was wondering why... maybe I'm the first non-greenhorn that applied.

If a job offer comes up, it will add 16 minutes to my already hour long drive. Nor thrilled about it, but I'm willing to do what I must to move forward.

Everything that I'm currently dealing with at work is stagnant, or moving backwards into the way-back.

Maybe its time to take education into my own hands, but I would still need a job with less hours to help pay for some of it. Would need actual schedule instead of "Hey, can you come into work 4 hours early?" Need time to sit down, and focus on each course.

What shift is it? It'd be cool to have you around normal time.

It didn't specify "A shift" but did say rotating shift. I'll pull up screen shots in a minute.

Those SOWs at FedEx finally got my springs to me Sunday afternoon.
The two delivery people (who I find aren't the ones behind the colossal fuckups in shipping) were exceedingly nice and the dude even lugged those big bitches into my garage.

I'm scheduled for my Cortisone shot this evening for my swelbow, so tonight is off the table. Going to see if one of the techs here at work will help me knock it out tomorrow after work. If not, it will likely be the weekend before I unfuck my truck's stance.

So PLC, HVAC, and some of the hydraulic stuff is completely out of my league. Hopeful, but realistic.

PLCs aren't bad. It's basically just a big logic controller. 1s and 0s go in, 1s and 0s go out. Think of it as a cabinet full of relays. It takes signals from various things, then sends it out to make other things do things.

Oh, I know that. I meant logging into the Online, and running version of the PLC. I am not computer literate in a "On the job" setting like that.

I can certainly follow wire labels, and input/output labels. Done it before, and do it again. Troubleshot a bunch of fucked up wires with continuity just yesterday. Servo over traveled and ripped out a wiring harness for the machine. A cluster.

I dropped a house sized AC unit from the ceiling accidentally. 40 feet up. Nearly tipped over the scissor lift. Talk about clenched butt hole.

Yeah, I've run pipe, and done some flex pipe moving/installing.

What I’ve learned, is no one really knows what they are doing, just faking it until they make it. The company will never find the perfect candidate that perfectly checks off all those boxes, but if they find someone that has tids and bits of experience in all those areas; that might be a good choice to then mold them into the employee they need.

I'll be heavily promoting my young age (23,) and my desire to learn. I can be molded into something more than TG uses me for. (A place holder on third shift.)

I can totally be molded into whatever is needed with proper training.

Don’t be scared the pull out the Eagle Scout card either. I’ve raised some eyebrows doing that(in a good way, like, oh Tammy from HR, did you hear that?)

My favorite is when someone asks if you know what you're doing then laugh when you say nope.

Like nah I'm serious I don't know what the fuck I'm looking for but I'll know it when I see it

I like how lax at my work they've become in hiring.

    Got a heartbeat? Hire them!

Back in the early days, your future coworker interviewing you would give you a written test to complete. What's worse is once you complete it to their satisfaction, they become sidelined when you start asking questions like "Can you describe a typical day of work here and what I would be doing?". When the answers intentionally get vague, you know to walk away.

Supervisor just told me that starting January 4th, you must be vaccinated, or have weekly tests done.

If neither, off with no pay until testing is done...
