I figured this should be interesting. What is the cheapest usable, driveable car in your area?
    Rules:
Car must be capable of being driven under its own power to at least 45MPH.
Car must be capable of travelling 20 miles without a breakdown (of course this is speculation)
OBO does not count (The price that is listed counts)

I am betting that majority of the vehicles we find on craigslist in this price range are going to be beat-up wore out Buicks as that is all I have found...

Well my find is a 1995 Buick Regal with 158,000 Miles(AC and Heat work well!). The price is $350. The ad is also pretty interesting.

Let's see what you can find...

My wife is the general manager at a local dealer so I may be cheating a bit. Anyway we just picked up a 1997 Sentra with 57k miles for $400. I'm gonna give it to a friend my oldest son plays ball with. He's a really good kid and doesn't have the means to get a car. I'll post some pics shortly, cooking right now.

    See my post above:
White, grey interior, auto, air cruise and pretty clean except for the paint flaking off in a few spots. And best of all 57k miles. Hell I'd drive it for something to beat around in.

Worst car in my entire neighborhood is my beater. I drive it 5 mins a day to the train station and park outside in the 100 degree heat. '96 Mercedes C280. Nothing works on the car but the motor. CEL is on. Disc brake light comes on every time I brake. LCD on radio is black... can't change the station. Half the headliner is hanging like a curtain. Tires are bald... like metal showing. Electric antenna is bent in half from the car wash. Air conditioning is out of freon, gotta drive with all the windows down in the summer. Wiper fluid tank has a hole, can't wash my windshield. Pulls so hard to the right it'll make a circle in the parking lot. Cigarette burns on seats. Power locks work occasionally, I just leave it unlocked when it doesn't work. Haven't changed the oil in atleast 5 years. I'm just waiting for it to die, but it just won't die. It's embarrassing, it really is. But it beats parking my truck out in the sun everyday.

Ran outside to take a pic. :D Check out the curtain and the antenna.

Will not knock ya brother I drive a 97 C230 100 miles a day and it will not die! I do change her oil regularly but that's all the special treatment she gets. Paid $600 five years ago bet I could a solid $500 now! Cause she's got new tires lol.
